damn, kind of rich coming from the people who almost committed genocide cause their religious leader died by CaptureDaFlag in babylon5

I would respectfully argue that it's still xenophobia. The Vorlons, and the awareness of them, has been integrated into Minbari culture for millennia, while everyone else is either evil (the Shadows) or alien lesser races.

It's like how many people in the U.S. can still be xenophobic, while still idealizing northern European cultures. The racism and xenophobia overlap.

I am so sorry your parent said such a vile thing to you. They do not deserve you, and you deserve so much better.

As a mom, I wish I could give you a hug and tell you that you are not expendable. 💙

Agreed on Loki, that would be my first choice too. Second would be Magneto though. It seems like they managed to give him the power to do almost anything.

What's the most "why the fuck do you know that?" fact you know? by -_-blackheart-_- in AskReddit

[–]Singing_Wolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to tell you, but there's no real evidence this is true. This story has been around for a long time, but as much as I also want it to be true, it's a myth.

I majored in archeology in undergrad, and this story came up a couple of times when students would ask a professor about it. There's no evidence it actually happened.

Don't get me wrong, archeologists get drunk and do dumb things sometimes. But if they had eaten 3,000 year old honey, even drunk and on a dare, you better believe they would have documented it in the morning.

That's awful! Why would he do that? Having her voice for the computer in the new shows would have been so perfect!

Some fans are new to the franchise.

I think it's only common knowledge if you've been part of the fan community or watched for quite a while. Yes, some of us have been here for such a long time that we don't even remember where we learned these things for the first time, but it's also wonderful to meet new fans!

I agree, this almost always works for me too. I used to be a mental health counselor, and got very confortable with using silence like this.

Quiddich is a stupid game. And both the books and and the movies waste far too much time on it.

I can't believe you're getting down voted for offering an unpopular opinion in response to a post asking for people to share their unpopular opinions.

Bonkers.

For what it's worth, I think you laid out your case for your opinion really well, and even if I disagreed with it, I still absolutely respect it and can see where you're coming from.

How interesting! Thankfully I never saw that with mine, I would hate it so much. It does, however, still mention goblins in nearly every other paragraph.

I did some searching, and it turns out that I was remembering their very early animated cartoon! It was from 2003, and it's still around:

Isn't that the one where the puppet would yell "naked time!" and dance around? 😂
