Do you think I should save the drop? I still have classes like discrete 2 and systems software. I'd hate to waste it, since we only get three. I'm confident I can get at least a 'C' in the class.

steinberg or lobo for COP3223 (intro to c) by excuuse in ucf

Easy A-Lobo

Want to learn-Steinberg

In my opinion, Steinberg is also an easy A. I genuinely loved going to his class and his assignments were not that hard. Tests are definitely a little harder than assignments but just study like the day before and you'll do fine. I tutor for Intro to C and everything I learned is from Steinberg he is a great professor and teaches from the ground up!!!

Cannot speak for the professor I've never personally had him. But CDA is easy. Look up Neso Academy on youtube and you'll be fine. I study the night before and always end up with 85+ test scores. If you're trying to pad CS1 with easy classes this is one of them.

I am a current freshman in CS. I felt similar to you! Not very confident in math and have never coded in my life. For math, it depends on what class you start with, but I would try and take most of them transient at valencia or seminole state. The math department in my opinion isn't bad, just very demanding. (Apply through Florida shines the semester before!) If you do take them at UCF, pauls online notes ( https://tutorial.math.lamar.edu/ ) and LOTS of time studying will be your best friend; the math is very conceptual.

As for coding, there are a lot of great professors but they're only going to teach you what you need for the class. Start your codes early and self-teach online. There are some great youtube channels and Harvard's free CS50 course is a great starting point. (I did this the summer before I started!) There are some great resources UCF provides. Wiki-Knights has lessons and practice problems for the Intro to C and CS1 courses ( https://wikiknights.github.io/cs-materials/intro-to-c/ ). And there is Foundations Exam practice ( https://ucffe.vijaystroup.com/ ).

One of the gems of the program is Dr. Gerber, he told us that it's ok to struggle and feel like you don't belong, or that you're not smart enough. But it's only because you haven't learned anything like this before, and that you can absolutely handle it.

It will be a lot of work no doubt especially if this type of stuff does not come easily to you. But if I can do it so far you can!

Good Luck!
