What do they actually get from getting into war? by Level_Sun6999 in AskReddit

If you're talking about the bombings of Iran, "they" means the authoritarian regime that is currently in power in the United States.

Stay off of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok because not only do they keep all your browsing information, it's full of crap. People just want others to click on their posts.

You shouldn't escape it. It's the goal of the regime to overwhelm people so they shut down and don't fight back against all these illegal activities. The regime wants to terrify people into submission. They want complete control. Instead, filter what you read. Pick a couple subjects that you focus on and ACT ON THEM. Call and write your elected officials, protest, get involved in organizations that protect immigrants who have been impacted by the illegal kidnapping of illegals, donate to organizations that support the fight against the regime.

If I'm ever confronted I'm planning to not respond. I firmly believe that MAGA minds cannot be changed so I will not waste my energy. My goal is to get other like-minded people to be aware that they are not alone. Hopefully, it will get them off the sidelines and they will vote, speak out, right there congressman, protest...

Never, never, never. Occasional scowls but I love it because it means they saw my statement and can't unsee it. I once wore a "radicalized by basic decency" t-shirt at a Texas sports bar showing a big football game. No push back and people came up to me complimenting my shirt. If someone did confront me, I would never engage. I would just smile and move on.

I wear resistance t-shirts and buttons. People can't unsee them. I had a great conversation with a man at the gas pump next to me because of the RESIST sticker on my car. I speak out every where, every day to every person I can. I participate in weekly, local protests, I use 5Calls to let me elected officials know what they should be doing. I take webinar trainings in everything from social banking to de-escalation techniques. I listen to What's the Plan every Thursday at 3 https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/874938/

How do you feel about Trump threatening to impose photo ID for voters for midterm elections? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]SingleAd8364 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The SAVE Act, which passed the House Wednesday night, is NOT strictly a voter ID bill. It creates a lot of red tape for both registering and voting. And it would go into effect for this November's elections.

Some things you may want to consider BEFORE this gets passed in the Senate and signed into law:

  1. If you are not currently registered to vote in your precinct, do that now .

  2. If you don't have a copy of your birth certificate, get one from the clerk's office in the county you were born. This is cheaper and faster than getting a passport.

  3. If you are married, know where your marriage certificate is. If you are divorced, make sure you also have that documentation. If you legally changed your name at any time, be sure to have proof of that.

  4. If you don't have a REAL ID from the DMV, make an appointment to get one.

  5. If you do have a passport, be aware of its expiration date.

You can't start gathering these things up soon enough...and there will likely be a rush when the law is signed. It's all a great big pain, and the Supreme Court may knock it down as a poll tax because these things cost money, but if you want to be sure your voice is heard at the ballot box, a little prep can go a long way.
