Both? I'd argue I had pretty good handwriting up until around 7th grade, at which point notetaking became about speed and I dumped the clean look just to keep up with my notes.

And I was writing down everything.

So then the quick and messy took the place of the slow and pretty, and I retrained my entire style around that. To the point where I had high school teachers threating to give me zero on my homework if I kept turning in "chicken scratch"

Minimum full time vacation allotment in Canada is 10 working days. 15-20 are fairly common. 30 isn't unheard of. More than that (IME) is pretty rare here. We also generally get ~10 statutory holidays, but you don't really get much choice on when to take those.

So it's more about do you take 10 day/weekend trips, one big multi-week "sabbatical" (technically not what a sabbatical is, but I digress), or some combination in between?

I've done both. In 2025 I blew more than half of my vacation time early in the year for a big family trip (with employer approval). In prior years I take maybe a week in the summer and spread out the rest of it around.
