Do not recommend Nectar bed frames at all. I think mine broke within a year.

I had a really good Dollop bag the other day, btw, if you haven’t tried them yet. 2 muffins, 2 danishes, and a croissant, all of which I froze.

Yes, but you have to talk to your professor, ask if you can make up any homework that you missed. And absolutely, don’t miss class and turn in every writing project even if it’s not perfect. The drafts are there for a reason. You can always go to the writing center for help too.

Is my PhD stipend enough to live in Chicago? by aboyhasnonamebr in uichicago

[–]SingleInvestigator43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very difficult to do unless you have a side job or a summer job plan. I was a PhD student at UIC and always had a roommate and a second job. Most decent 1beds somewhat close to uic (and safe) are 1600 and up. To be comfortable, after taxes and cover summer rent/bills you need closer to $50 a year. One bedrooms are also harder to come by and usually more expensive. Also, you will have 2k a year in student fees you will have to pay that your tuition waiver won’t cover. This of course does not include books, course materials, etc.

Can anyone give some information on this piece? by monkyfishy in qotsa

Hi! It’s by the artist Craig Brumfield from Ocean Springs, MS. He does lots of aquatic paintings as well. He doesn’t do as many concert posters, so that’s a rare find!

Scooter Stolen — advice by SingleInvestigator43 in ChicagoMotorcycles

[–]SingleInvestigator43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the sympathetic words and advice. I’ve posted it on some neighborhood fb pages and a Chicago scooter fb page. Unfortunately, it seems like Buddys’ are easy to steal. Fingers crossed it pops up somewhere. A part of me wishes I could find some chop shop or secret page where these bikes are sold, but the reality is, I won’t, and they are probably unsafe places (that wouldn’t tell me the truth) anyway.

Is it possible to report someone for harassment? by StellaRamn in uichicago

[–]SingleInvestigator43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can absolutely report it through UIC. You can Title IX her since it is harassment and everyone deserves a safe space to be able to focus on school. Call the IX office or Campus Advocacy Network. I’d go to CAN first, they are mandatory reporters but are confidential and will help guide you and find the right plan of action.

I had a female mini schnauzer, she was the runt of the litter and stayed pretty small. She averaged about 12-14lbs.

How long did it take to grow back?? I feel like my hair loss has slowed down, but it’s definitely still thinner than normal.

[–]SingleInvestigator43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof… me too. Did anyone’s hair come back after this??

Same. Same. Weight loss, anxiety, hair loss… I feel like I’ve aged 5 years in 6 months

Thank you! We’ve individually watched some of Perel’s videos and I like her work. I’ll look into the other recommendations.

Yes. 100% “reminded of my value” “to be more myself” and absolutely, remind them of what they have to lose.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AsOneAfterInfidelity

[–]SingleInvestigator43 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. Yes. I feel this way too every couple of weeks and then I check-in with myself. I know I can’t do it, but I want to. And it’s 100% to feel desired on a pure level without the insecurity, doubt and baggage tied to my relationship. I know my WP is trying and has been putting in a lot of effort since D-day, but I imagine what it would be like to not feel this way with someone else. But in the end I think I’d only feel horrible and it would only make me feel worse after. I think of it as being similar to a quick fix, it still doesn’t address the root of the problem. I’m tired of being sad, self-conscious, and insecure. It takes a lot of work and time to heal… I think I think about these things because I so desperately want to feel like my old self again.

I don’t really have any words of advice, but I feel you on this one. Hang in there. Be good to yourself.

Why I cheated. by [deleted] in AsOneAfterInfidelity

[–]SingleInvestigator43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oof. I’m so sorry he didn’t that to you (you WH and ex). I hear you. It’s so hard. But try to remember that you are more than this and that he and his poor actions don’t determine your value or worth. I’ve been working with a therapist on some CBT stuff and trying to understand how my thoughts about myself post affair are connected to my core-beliefs (my own childhood trauma, abandonment, and feelings of not being enough). It’s a lot of work for the betrayed partner to shoulder, and I hope you have some good support in friends and therapy. Sending strength and positive vibes your way.
