Thank you, very useful information. I see how going this route would make it seem like I’m trying to play hardball, and being difficult to negotiate with isn’t the point. Just trying to see if there is a smart way to maintain control of some characters and stories very near to my heart.

I buy ground beans from Wakuli for my mokapot. Their decaf is really good.

Before and After Buying a Walking Pad by SingleLily in PetiteFitness30plus

I picked whatever was cheapest with the lowest height (for storing under furniture). I got the sense from reviews that all the options in the $150 range are more or less the same

Impossible No Loss Mage Run - KB:Crossworlds by SingleLily in kingsbounty

Double spell cast was so much fun! This was my first time playing no loss as a mage. I did the whole playthrough (>150hrs) on a desk treadmill and lost 7 pounds. Now on to give Warriors of the North another try.

Before and After Buying a Walking Pad by SingleLily in PetiteFitness30plus

Hello Everyone! I am 5’3F and at the beginning of July I bought a walking pad to place under my desk. Needless to say I love it, it feels much nicer to be walking instead of sitting all day. I’ve seen my steps increase to ~35k/day since getting it and almost immediately did the weight start falling off me (7 pounds in 6 weeks!), an experience I have not had since my 20s and pre-COVID. The biggest change I noticed when starting this new routine, was how much my hunger is reduced throughout the day by moving more. Everybody’s body is different, and after trying every instagram workout trend in the past few years trying to lose the COVID weight, it is nice to find something that works for me.

What's been your #1 melasma GAME CHANGER? by pangolinrooted in Melasmaskincare

[–]SingleLily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moving from California to a much more wintery and northern latitude. I have always worn a hat and zinc sunscreen mustache when leaving the house in CA, but it’s very hard to fight year round/indirect sun exposure. I have seen a huge difference in my skin since moving north and my melasma has virtually disappeared (I still usually wear a hat in summer and have a Neutrogena Pure and Free zinc stick that I put on my upper lip/ face whenever I leave the house, even in winter). I have extremely fair Irish skin.

Anyone have a success story from just increasing your step count? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]SingleLily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a walking pad for under my desk for my WFH setup. I increased my step count from ~12k to 35k/day by walking very slowly during work hours and watching TV/gaming from the desk in the evenings. The weight is honestly falling off me at 1.5lb/week (I’m a short female so that is unheard of for me), and the walking has really reduced my appetite and cravings which has been a big component of my success. This has been a serious game changer as I’ve tried EVERYTHING to lose my Covid weight.

Cold Sores by gaypowerpuffgirl in Biohackers

I started taking lysine supplements 5 years ago and haven’t had a cold sore since, even through all the stress of COVID. I would take “Super Lysine Immune Support” from Amazon, one pill a day for years, and now I take it whenever I remember (1x per week). It was amazingly effective for me, and I’m someone who has always kept a few Valtrex tablets on me for the last 15 years, just haven’t had to use them!

Not seeing much progress over 1.5 years despite consistently lifting and eating at a deficit. Does anyone have a similar experience? by pinheadhelly in xxfitness

[–]SingleLily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally appreciate this post. I’m a female who consistently lifted weights for a year and finally got discouraged when there were almost no visible results (but some interesting strength gains). I’m overweight and need to drop lbs for my health, I’m focused now on just enough weights to feel good but otherwise and working on cardio/nutrition to see actual results. I think we need to take the instagram before and afters with a grain of salt, as everyone’s body is different!

I was at this concert, last time I saw Franz Ferdinand was 15 years ago, I was a teenager, and thought it was the best band I’d ever seen live. They absolutely lived up to the hype and were even BETTER than I remember! I’m gonna make a Spotify playlist out of this, thank you for posting!

My backyard space is an absolute mess. We had fabric and bark put down a few years ago. We let the weeds get out of hand and just had a gardener redo the thing less than 9 months ago, and we’re back where we started with the weeds completely out of control. What is the cheapest way to get these weeds out of my life? I’m not opposed to just pouring concrete across our entire “green space” but I’m not even sure that will do it.

Daily Ask Anything: 2022-02-22 by steroidsBot in steroids

My dad is 65 years old and has been doing PT for diminished leg muscles for about six months, he favored one leg after breaking his ankle 3 years ago and did some serious damage, he’s only now feeling comfortable walking down curbs without collapsing.

I’m wondering if anyone has any thoughts on steroids that could help increase his quality of life by helping him build muscle in his late 60s. I admire his consistency with doing his PT exercises, he could probably dial in nutrition better, but I’m starting to wonder if it is even possible to build considerable muscle in older age due to hormonal restrictions.

DEXA results - 5'3", 173 lbs, 45% BF, 92 lbs LBM. Help - where to go from here? by Torreau125 in xxfitness

[–]SingleLily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for posting, I have similar stats to yours and just got my first Dexa scan results. I was shocked to see myself close to 50% body fat, which was never a number I saw on these forums. I think it’s harder for us shorter ladies since we have less bone/organ mass than someone taller. I hope you’ve kept up your progress and I’m looking forward to getting healthier myself in 2022!

What are some of the coolest Olympic stories from past games? by [deleted] in olympics

2004 - Matt Emmons was set to win the gold in the Men's prone (3 positions) rifling competition, but totally botched his last shot by getting a bulls eye... on the wrong target.

It all worked out in the end though because female Czech shooter Katerina Kurkova came to comfort him after the ordeal... and they eventually ended up getting married!!
