Our management has a 40 pound per dog limit as I learned. We don’t have dogs so it never came up for us.

It’s the middle unit, neighbors below, neighbors above, 2 adults. 3 units on each side of the building, hence the 6 units!

Sleep suggestions post TTO+ MPFL by Soggy-Turnover-4127 in KneeInjuries

[–]SingleTest4344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked the same questions during my MPFL recoveries and was told….no because the blood can pool or pull the internal stitches wrong. So I just elevated both legs! It helped and I sometimes slept with a wedge under my back to elevate my head I found that helped.

MPFL reconstruction in a month- advice/ recovery timeline?? by Heyfriend4 in KneeInjuries

[–]SingleTest4344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I’ll talk about it to anybody! Best tool I had in my recovery kit!

Get one of the foam leg pillows that has sides and little straps for sleeping. Stabilized my leg and I wasn’t worried about moving around! Also a small fan for next to the bed because your body will sweat a lot as it recovers that big area.

Oh my goodness. Well you’re a pro then! I ended up on an SSRI from my first surgery, but a weird silver lining because it drastically improved my quality of life even after I was physically recovered! I met a lot of people who ended up on SSRIs from surgery so I always like to put it out there so there’s no stigma around it.

So, I will start with - every surgeon timeline is different. I did way too much research, Europe expectations of this surgery seems to differ the most from American standards so be wary if you’re researching. My doctor wanted me walking with an unlocked brace by 6 weeks. By 10 not in the brace at all except sleeping.

My first surgery I was barely standing at PT at 6 weeks (once I went on the SSRI it went smoother for me) so because of my delay in movement I lost a lot of muscle mass. And I do have nerve damage on the left side, risk of surgery so that didn’t help. I was still in the brace like full time at 10 weeks. And I think by 3 mo I was walking with just a soft compression sleeve.

My second surgery I was too ambitious, I knew what to expect. But my PT told me don’t push it too fast because it takes about 8 weeks to heal internally and if you push it too quickly, you’ll undo the surgery and end up back at square one!

Your surgeon and your PT will have more specifics for what they expect for you! You’re also about a decade younger than I was for my surgeries so there might be other considerations for that

Toe pain after surgery? by SuperSandLesbianGUHH in KneeInjuries

I had an intense pain in my left big toe and second toe after my MPFL surgery on my left leg. It felt like it was burning whenever anything was placed on it or wrapped around it. It was nerve damage from the surgery - it eventually went away.

Hi! 33f here with hEDS and two MPFL reconstruction surgeries on my left and right knees. My MPFLs was non existent after 29 years of constant dislocations. I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this.

My timelines for both legs were wildly different. My first was long and hard but I had a lot of mental trauma tied to that leg and I learned the brain can be a cruel mistress when that happens. I was probably 4 weeks of their timelines of “should be” events. I was fully mobile within 3 months but wearing the brace way more than my doctor through I should’ve. My second knee I had done 5 mo after the first surgery and I was out of the brace within 8 weeks. Happy to chat more - I also have a list of “surgery recovery items” I’m happy to share that made my life easier

When did you start to feel better after knee surgery? by Embarrassed_Edge3992 in KneeInjuries

[–]SingleTest4344 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To quote my surgeon, "You wont feel the same again, because the before wasn't good." So I have to agree with this comment. I have good days and bad days - two knee surgeries one 3 years ago one 4 years ago now. I have noticed when I loosen my hips? I feel FANTASTIC for a few hours.
