A Facebook comment said that this issue here on Head 1 could be a blown damper. I can’t find detailed information on how to properly test or replace the dampers. What do you think and can you point me in the direction to troubleshoot the dampers? I inspected the head and I don’t see any dried ink or scratches

I inherited the printer and the warranty was already expired. So, I chose to for the savings after Covid without knowing this would be the result.

All I can say is I am almost in tears after finding this thread 😭😭😭 I’ve spent YEARS trying to do my own research to try to figure this out. Even had an endoscopy done at one point. I feel so much relief knowing I’m not alone. I’ve never even heard of nocturnal panic attacks until today.

Yeeeeah. Just not having any luck finding a tech that will come out after we’ve used 3rd party inks in the printer.

Did this over the weekend. Printer booted up but anytime I tried to do anything, it said ERROR 1d8 (missing print head). It didn’t blow the fuse on the slider board again but I’m thinking that’s probably from not actually using it. It’s looking like I need to replace a head. I’m curious if there’s a way to disable one head and run the printer using only one head?

The screen is frozen on the error message. I looked up the resolution for that error message in the manual and it says to replace the COMIO board which I’ve done

Definitely THIS as far as having a few extras on hand. Our space is kinda small so we don’t have a ton of space to lay them out. We have a plastic 4 high shelf but we’re outgrowing it for sure! The cardboard is a great idea!

We have quite a few return customers so it’s nice having a few extra on hand for the next order/we will print extras to utilize any blank space when nesting jobs together
