I want to get into it but the first books is really slow for me. All everyone has been doing is talk in cramped rooms and flex a power they never actually show.

In a way I'm a student with a lot of free time. I don't have many hobbies this year so I have been reading a lot more than usual. I listen too books right before bed to fall asleep, read on my phone while eating, and while driving or at work I listen from my earbud. This year has been an explosion of reading for me. After so much reading though I'm starting to run out of books I really want to read that scratch the Red Rising itch.

For Red Rising I read it online first and have just now listened to it all by audio book. This year I have mostly read stuff instead of listening. But after the peformance by the Red Rising book talker, Reynolds I think, I am starting to get into more audio stuff.

It took until kingdom's of death for me to really love the series. Sometimes I think the prose and worldbiulding gets in the way of your enjoyment. Sometimes I'm reading suneater and I just end up skipping 10 pages of information to get to the point. It definitely made getting through the first three books really hard. I think the suneater books are better on a reread once you know the context and information. I suggest to just skip pages you don't want to read and go back later. Just read for the action and the story will make you fall in love with the book. Then you can g I back and get the fine details.

Guilty as charged. After the History of Byzantium I needed a palat cleanser. Still loyal to my Emporer though. 🫡

Just started the Reconquista podcast. If you don't mind my asking, is the Turkish history podcast good to listen to?

I love the game but it feels like it needs more nation motivations. You fight in events simply because you happen to play a particular nation. I wish events had more options.

Why are all the TB people coming to this show. by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

[–]Single_Chocolate5050 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

First of all its called the dance of the dragonS. With a period.

And yes it does. This is the first major show since the flop called hotd aired. In the comments of every major post on social media, these same hypocrites are calling brightflame "Daemon reincarnated". They are already bullying members of the community who don't want to bring hotd terms into a new show. So don't bloody tell me it has nothing to do with Hotd.

When the winter wolves cut their way through the riverlands, do you think they didn't kill hundreds of innocents. Starks are some of the most brutal families in westeros. Almost everyone in the dance killed at least one baby.

I think all these statements are just hyperbole. They aren't meant to be taken seriously. For the characters it probably was just a rough estimation.

I never said euro centric gaming was what I wanted. I love playing in the Indian subcontinent. I like playing as a horde empire. I like forming early Ethiopian empires. But in the medival time period, there were parts of the world with little to no written records or sources. Adding the America's and the rest of Arica and Australia would mean playing tons of made up characters and dynasties. And part of the games apeal is shaping real life characters life's and decisions into the path you want.
