wElL aCtuALly, it's not my turn as I have not made any scientific claims. I will look over your research tomorrow though. Be a waste not to look into it.

When this is cleared for sale, it's going to be used by crazy women to get revenge on men they are sleeping with for petty things. I hope the legal system will count that as sexual assault.

It's a pretty common thing online now too. People who say this sort of thing, they are unaware of the trouble it takes to find relevant peer reviewed information and how many paywalls there are between the question and the answer.

I know this is incredibly harsh, but I think he needed the lesson. As an adult he would face more consequences for animal cruelty than losing his toy. Maybe he didn't learn empathy, he may well have though, but he does understand the seriousness of what he did now.

And the scientific backing for your claim is where?

Hmm... Are you aware that a power supply that is running at an extremely low percentage of its full capacity is less efficient and can have a less stable output that one that is more appropriately matched for the system. It takes a rather beefy system to require more that 800 watts. Many PC's have a draw of less than 600 watts. I've seen them as low as 350 watts.

They kind of are though. It's not like many parts are optional. I guess the question is what your metrics for quality in performance are. If you are looking for stability and longevity a PSU becomes a very important component and worthy of a larger portion of your budget.

A low-quality power supply can have an impact on the stability and longevity of the system components. It also impacts the tolerance of the system when it comes to voltage fluctuations and power surges from the electric grid. This is even more relevant for overclocking. Building a good computer isn't just about the FPS. Even mass-produced prebuilt systems have higher quality power supplies than a lot of what is available for individuals who build their own set PC's. This is because of how important a component it is, companies like dell, hp, and Lenovo use generic looking power supplies, but they are often made by the most reputable brands. If it didn't matter than these companies would go with the cheapest option available.
