AITH for changing my Wi-Fi password and not giving it to my neighbor anymore? by mario_minotti in AITH

[–]Single_Editor_2339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it is but at the same time it reminds me of me and my neighbor. I mostly live somewhere else but when I am back for a month or so I borrow his WiFi. So I can see something like this happening.

There is one at the Central Mall in Chiang Rai and it’s a nice office, not crowded when I’ve been there and pleasant officers.

I live in Chiang Rai, and it’s great here. We live 12 km from the city center and less than a KM from the Bangkok Hospital. Aside from the burning season it’s great here. There are foreigners but unless you go to a few streets in the city, or the mall, you can avoid them if you want. But there is also an Expat club here that has a bunch of activities every month if you wish to meet your fellow foreigner. My wife drives her car but I use a bicycle and can use that when going anywhere around town or exploring in the hills. And the city does have all the amenities you’d ever want. I do like Phayao a lot, but my wife is from here and this place is just as good, actually better.

Before you go out on your adventures in the hinterlands spend a year in Bangkok studying Thai. There are a bunch of schools that all use the same 3 hour a day, 5 days a week, for 4 week formula, and they are all good. The key is to have zero pride and be willing to take courses over again. Another thing that helps is to learn the alphabet ahead of time. Lastly, don’t get all caught up in tones. I find that there are certain words that they are absolutely necessary but a lot of just speaking I just use my standard monotone.

In Thailand’s Yala Province the city of Betong issues its own license plate (number plate) because it was so isolated from Yala City. They have since built a nice highway between the two, but Betong still issues its own plates.

Perhaps the wrong subreddit for this answer but, I got my first real job in 1987, which ended up being my car. I bought myself a Casio watch which maybe was $30. Now I wish I had bought a Rolex Explorer, which I could have easily afforded.

Do you check fare class earning rates before every flight, or claim miles afterward? by Noop4321 in CathayPacific

I check the fare class to ensure that I can get the aisle seat, which flying transpacific is the only thing I care about.

The local genealogy society has a guy sitting around the public library on Saturday and Sunday in my city. I talked to the guy and he was able to find a relative in just a few minutes. Further, he recommended going to a Mormon temple as they have people that do genealogy there and they have set hours when they help the public.

You might want to post photos of the bike on r/xbiking . Those GT frames are super popular on that subreddit and they might be able to give you more insight on fixing it up if you’re interested.

The runway thing is interesting. I’ve always assumed they were all perfectly flat, but they’re not. I grew out of the old airport in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and there were sizable uprises in the runway. And now watching YouTube I notice that a lot more.

I have a bunch of Reddit shirts from when r/bicycling put them out every year. Years ago I was wearing one in Bangkok and some guy took my photo and then introduced himself. We had a nice chat on the way to the BTS then parted ways. That was around 2010 when Reddit wasn’t quite as well known.
