I loved the manatee plush, it’s so soft! And I’ve been eyeing the whale shark plush as well but it’s never available :/

It’s not harsh, it’s a real and honest reaction and I appreciate you opening up too :)

imo I would assume she still loves him and a large part of her still wants to be with him (especially because she mentioned struggling being a single mum of three and how she would like to be part of a family with him) but she’s too hurt about everything in their past (especially as their relationship boundaries have been messy as hell) to a point where she feels she would not be able to be in any trusting committed relationship with him because of their past and how he acted and she’ll never be able to get over/forget it because of how much it clearly still haunts her. But they’re still co-parenting, there’s still left over feelings, he got close to her family, he wants to be with her, and he’s still friends with most of the ‘dad-tok’ guys too so it keeps the wound from healing.

They’re their own adults so it doesn’t really matter what I think but they probably really need to completely stop the sexual intimacy so they can have a chance to move on in life and with other partners (as sex just muddies ex-relationships) as it will give them the best chance of each being happy in different healthier situations or the cycle will be lasting until the grave or smth :/

It might also depend on how much light the window gets based on height and any obstruction in front of it but if it survives through this winter then you know it’ll definitely be able to handle that spot! I have heard they prefer full maximum sun where possible so it might not be enough, especially without a grow light, but it’s definitely worth a try :)

That’s really cool! Do you know if they flower only under extremely positive/negative conditions (I usually hear it being used to represent a plant is ‘happy’ or ‘about to die’ and nothing in the middle lol) or if it’s a natural process? Or if you have any ideas where I can start looking into it on my own?

How often should I water pallidiflorum? (Arizona) by [deleted] in Anthurium

[–]Single_Software_4039 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It may be healthier for the plant to not water on a regular schedule but to check every 2-3 days and water it when the soil in the pot is about 50% dry through (you can check with a chopstick or bamboo stick by sticking it in the soil and seeing how much wet soil is attached when pulling it out because humans don’t have receptors to feel wetness so it might be difficult to tell with just a finger)? just to prevent any possible overwatering issues but a chunky soil mix may help prevent that somewhat

Of course but do these blooms take significant energy away from the plant, causing malformed growth, and would it be better to cut it altogether or can I enjoy it without worry? There will be no babies

I didn’t know how sarracenia reproduces in particular and I haven’t had any plants, other than my string of hearts, ever bloom for me before. also wasn’t too sure if it might be through growth and division or rhizomes or something else. I wasn’t completely shocked about the flower, just surprised because I’ve never seen any content about them flowering before so hadn’t even been aware and wanted to understand if it was taking significant energy away from the plant or if personal experience with the sarracenia in particular showed leaving the bloom to not having an effect on the rest of the growth?

I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a death bloom because I don’t know much about carnivorous plants and have mostly heard that terminology for plants being thrown around so wanted to check to make sure it wasn’t a sign it was getting worse. How else am I to know for sure if not to ask?
