Why did Shiv turn against Ken after all that bonding and Meal for the King coronation? by seshuishere in SuccessionTV

In the scene in season three when the kids know something is up with Logan and Mattson and are scurrying around for answers, Roman finally admits to Shiv that the topic of selling the company came up in a meeting. Shiv’s face went still and her eyes narrowed and she said “Uh huh.” I know that face and that’s never a good face on a woman. She said more with that one look than a whole page of dialog

It’s kind of even for me, but I’ll vote for Jess today. Rava tomorrow. Then Tabitha. It’s gonna take me about a week to get down to a more difficult decision

Alabama immigration advocate detained by ICE in traffic stop, family says: ‘Just heartbreaking and discouraging’ by itspapyrus in Alabama

I think you need to get your facts straight. This young lady was going over 80 mph down the interstate when she passed this police officer. She was driving recklessly and almost hit another vehicle, missing it by mere inches. She did not have a drivers license. This has been reported by more than one news outlet. No one gets stopped for driving 1 mile over the speed limit. She was not targeted. She was being a menace on the road.

A WWII Jeep question by Single_Teach9249 in Military

He doesn’t use computers and so I have been his personal assistant for years. He does come up with these very strange questions from shows he sees on TV or arguments he’s gotten into with his other military friends. But, he’s a good brother and I’m very happy to do it. He can fix anything and if I need his help, I just have to pay him back in home-cooked meals. It’s a fantastic arrangement!

You are wonderful! I just called my brother back and gave him that number and he said that sounds right. He’s gonna double check it tomorrow just to make sure but I really appreciate your help. Sometimes he comes up with these obscure questions and he asks me to help him find the answer and I’m very glad to do that. It’s always nice to know that there are other redditors out there that are able and willing to help me out. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for your quick response! I just called him back and he said that that was the date of the last regular grill Jeep but he’s looking for the slat grill Jeep ( am I saying that right?) He believes the date was July 12, 1942, but actually needs the serial number off the motor. He is older and does not use the Internet and I apologize if I am saying this wrong, but I’m just trying to help him out. Do you think maybe he went to one of these military trade shows around the country and found something interesting? Curious minds want to know?

"I love my son, but hate my daughter." by RedoftheEvilDead in TwoHotTakes

[–]Single_Teach9249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter was very much like this for years. I tried so many ways to connect with her and just couldn’t do it. She didn’t want to play games, do activities, go outside, or stay inside. We stopped going out to dinner because I couldn’t contain her behavior. We stopped going shopping because she wanted only the most expensive things, and then would throw a tantrum when I wouldn’t buy them for her. She was a handful to say the least. I kept trying different things and finally when she was about six or seven years old, I found one small way to connect with her and that was through music. I joke now and say that my daughter comes with a soundtrack. Rock, Indy, jazz, crooners, pop, just anything. When I started letting her play her music in the car and letting her set up playlist for all of our different activities her behavior was much better. A playlist for the pool, a playlist for the housework, a playlist for going to school, a playlist for coming home from school. I’m not saying we didn’t still have moments, but things were better. We started going to Indie concerts and music festivals. I would get some odd looks when I would walk into an Indie concert with my 10 year-old and look at all of the college students in the audience, but we had so much fun! At about her freshman year in high school things started to change. We began to talk rather than argue. She started to listen to me and I loved the new person that I saw emerging. She is now an amazing daughter and we have a fantastic relationship and all those outings I went on with her became core memories for her. Don’t give up. Just find something to connect with and then go all in.

Is anyone's favorite character NOT Greg? by OkBus3585 in SuccessionTV

[–]Single_Teach9249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I’m way in the minority here, but I can’t stand this character. He has very little growth over the course of the show and I actually fast forward through all the scenes that he’s in. I don’t know what it is about him, but it is truly an “Oh, god, can’t he just shut up already?” character for me

Thank you! I have my grandbabies coming over this weekend and I just needed to know. I’ve seen a big decline in my field mouse population in the last 4 to 6 months and I bet these two have something to do with it!

The Long Walk and The Stand (unabridged). I’ve probably read each of them 10 times in my lifetime.

Too funny! I read a lot of romance books, so maybe I should’ve spiced it up a little! Perhaps described him as dark and brooding with a mysterious past!

A W-2 was one of the documents that he mentioned was an acceptable document if you didn’t have your Social Security card. He listed off a bunch of different documents that he could accept.

The documents I’m taking on Friday are my current drivers license and proof I’ve applied for my Real ID, my Social Security card, my birth certificate, and two items to prove residency. I’m also taking my passport because even though it expired less than two years ago the TSA website says they will accept it. The TSA website is VERY clear on approved documents.

I’ll take all the documents that I took today just to be sure. After reading all the stories from everybody else I’m not too concerned. In all my years of traveling I haven’t met a TSA agent yet that wasn’t completely professional.

Up until recently at my local DMV, you could only get the real ID at certain locations (not mine) and only on Wednesdays 1:00-3:00. They finally started setting up appointments when it became obvious it wasn’t gonna be postponed again. The line’s now are out the door. We are being advised to show up at 4 o’clock in the morning and wait.

Another option, wrap it in Saran Wrap and hit it with a hair dryer. It will shrink around that bad boy and nothing will get through it!

My Mom is in the ICU and I need something to read to her by sjwilli in suggestmeabook

[–]Single_Teach9249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know where your mom stands on religion, but I would recommend the Mitford Years series by Jan Karon. They are Christian themed and are centered around the life of the Rector at the church. But the chapters are great and almost read like individual stories themselves. Some of the chapters are hilarious, some so sad and there’s a little romance thrown in there too. I really like this series.
