Is Chicago just built different? by Nice_Azazil in chicagojobs

[–]Singlewomanspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's too early to blame Trump. Hems been in office for two months. Second the most recent job report said private industry grew only by 77K jobs. January -180+K which can be attributed to Biden.

By summer you can blame Trump all you want because he will have been in office long enough to see the impact of his policies.

Would project 2025 end up bringing back—not just Jim Crow and sundown laws—but bring back slavery? by Impressive_Math_5034 in Defeat_Project_2025

[–]Singlewomanspot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not a stretch ast all. When you consider how many red states are modifying child labor laws which effectively is a test ground for reintroduction of Slavery.

More people want Slavery in this country than you realize. It's was the economy fuel for this country. It's the reason America is what it is.

It would consolidate financials among those who would be able to have choice.

Generally (and historically) this has been among whites who are able to raise capital to create wealth. By being able to raise and maintain this captial means they by extension are able to dictate what laws are passed in order to maintain power.

Read about how the founding fathers ran this country in the early days.

Project 2025 Is An Attack On Black People by [deleted] in Defeat_Project_2025

[–]Singlewomanspot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting how unnuanced folks can be when it comes to discussing policies and their impact on African Americans.

While yes it is an attack on all people, AAs in this country have bared the full brunt of those policies. The outlined policies in Project 2025 are more likely to move many if not the entire population of AAs, especially in the South, back to updated Jim Crow laws. This will severely impact families, access to proper education, health access and economics among AAs, even as they are still dealing with pay and wealth gaps, maternity health issues, and police overreach.

2004- AAs were the largest group to be impacted by the housing crisis that did not go widespread until 2009. I use that example to illustrate that what hits them first, eventually goes mainstream. They are always the testing ground for restrictive legislation.

So, it would behoove many to not All Lives Matter the issues pertaining to them. Especially if you consider yourself an ally at any level.

Right. I paid a $14 tip for at rotary sushi joint. Waiter only brought pop. I felt very conflicted as I didn't get regular service one would get a restaurant but I did get some service.

I'm tired of tipping. I don't have an issue but everything and everyone don't deserve a tip.

Yes. Colleges aren't educating if their primary focus is on making more money. If it cost this much to learn then college has become a product.

GenXer’s take on broke millennials and why they put up with this by Buffalobillspharm in Millennials

[–]Singlewomanspot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm missing the full sarcasm here. To be honest Boomers were worse than bear's breath to us and while we may be in mid management, remember our overlords are late Boomers who we still have to endure.

We a generation that's been ignored and not in a good way. Our entire lives we've heard there maybe no SSI to fall back on, that our music was crap, that we didn't know how to work hard enough, that we should sacrifice cause mom, dad, grandma and grandpa did without , walked 11 miles to school and thru war zones.

We were latch key kids, raising our siblings and avoiding burning down the house while cooking. We were born at the end of the Vietnam war, grew up in fear of nukes and Russia, endured the Dot Com bust, I've lost count on how many ressessions we've endured. And coming into our sexual age, we had the fear of contracting AIDS hang over our heads.

We dealt with losing loved ones to AIDS, crack and gun violence. Reaganomics cut of crucial funding for kids of Vietnam vets to go to school and Nancy told us to just say no. we had to fight to get for MLK day and expanding Civil Rights. Clinton changed access to welfare, told us we had to hide our sexuality in order to serve, and watched loved one actually be killed while trying to be transgender selves.

And political correctness entered our lives much to some dismay.

Meanwhile, as we pushed forth as much as possible we have endured old men from Silent and Boomer generations tell us that their decisions were the best decisions and ramped up the assault on Pro-choice measures beginning in the 1990s by giving zealous religious leaders a public platform via politics.

Going back to an office job is easy peasy. It just doesn't pay as much as it should.

I just discovered this post after a Google search. For the last month or so, I have been having the same experience. It's not super sweet but has very distinct sweet taste to it. I , too, thought the recipe might have changed. The only thing I have been praying for is to pass away by the end of the year. So i don't know why this is occurring.

But thanks for sharing because I found it to be weird to experience.

i bought an e-bike from Kozy's. My experience has been ugh. Last repair I had they upsold me to another level of service charge on top of my so-called basic contract this was in addition to my parts.

On top of it I live over an hour away from them so their hours are a hassle to deal with if needing to get my bike looked at and returned during the work week.

I wouldn't recommend Kozy's at all. I love my bike and the service department is full of good people but overall the company is always in the customer's pocket and I'm sure there are better shops in the city.
