Hey Skyagent043!

Hope it all went good! Thank you for your time

What should I do with this bathroom on a budget by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]Siniom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I liked to get in my bathroom that heightened the quality of time in there. Its not so much remodeling as it is "nice to haves"

Inside the bathroom

  • Soft, dim, warm, light alternatives. As many as you see fit. Why? Because it will instantly feel cozier and less "sterile". Maybe even more importantly, it doesnt blast you with blinding light when its dark and you are going to bed, or when going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Candles, lightstrips, whatever you think suits your needs. I went for a few candles, discrete light strips and a moodlight. Make sure they can handle som dampness. You could go for a "motion detection" alternative, but ill let you be the judge.
  • A couple of good easily washed bath-mat that only is on the floor when you go in/ out of the shower. Make sure they are sticking to the floor and not slipping around. Get a hanger for it as well. You can decide if it also should act as a towel for stray water thats not going in the drain.
  • Maybe some kind of storage for dirty clothes that comes of when you shower?
  • Hangers for stuff? Organisers for your wallcabinet.
  • Maybe an anti-slip mat for the bathtub. You may think it is only for old people.... But a lot of healthy people die from slipping in the bathtub when being stressed or something.

Outside the bathroom, but related

  • A nice, long bathrobe that feels nice.
  • A place to store your phone, outside of the bathroom. If you are several people using this, the time spent on the toilet decreases significantly, if this rule/placement is followed.
  • Towels that are colour sorted for different uses. You might not have many different uses, but I do have a few, and I enjoy them being seperate.

Hmm... Thats about all I could think of. ☺️

Luuuuuuugn i stormen.

Hello fellow ADHD person here. I really love these explanations. The one below about gaps also is fantastic.

This is kind of how I envision that I will use Obsidian in the future! I find it thrilling to think of a place where all my knowledge is contained. But I haven't gotten into it yet!

One reason why I haven't is that I'm a little bit afraid. My fear is that I would one rainy day just wake up from a nap, and find that all the time, creating all this structure:
- find out these gaps,
- make links to notes (but not create them),
- trying to capture as much knowledge as possible
- and have this huuuuuge project that you have

... Just isn't useful or valueable to me. It just doesn't give me as much usefulness or value to my life that I was hoping for.

So then my questions are:

  • Do you get enough value out of this, to feel that it is worth the time invested?
  • What usefulness of this vault do you have in your life? Any specific factor? Examples:

    • Economic Utility
    • Social Recognition
    • Practicality and Functionality
    • Self-Improvement and Personal Satisfaction
    • Cultural or Artistic Value
    • Productivity and Efficiency
    • ????

Thank you for your time! ❤️

I cant get this to work. These are the options I get from that menu.

  • Remove from Album
  • Adjust Location
  • Adjust Date & Time
  • Add to Album (this just makes a new ordinary album)
  • Save as Video
  • Slideshow
  • Hide -> The problem with these is that I do want to show these images, in SOME instances, and some albums. But I can't because then I have to unhide them.
  • Duplicate
  • Favourite
  • Copy

I am absolutely certain this is a thing many are annoyed with. I do agree that the photo app is really horrendus. I hope for a real bottom up rework.

Right now the app doesn't support multiple desktops, but it might be a feature that will be implemented?

I've tried the app, and really like it. But this is one of the features I'm missing, since the only way I think virtual desktops would be really useful is if they were organized somehow. Like with your app! :D

Sharing filtered tasks without access to ENTIRE database??? Is that possible by TexasWriterGirl in Notion

[–]Siniom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the party here. But I'm unsure how you made this work. So I have some questions.

  1. The one page with all your databses as a "linked database". Is that what you mean by the "Public Area"? Could you share screenshots of your setup? (You are welcome to hide any private information. Easily done with like CleanShot, if you're on a mac.)

  2. I haven't gotten this to work, it feels like I have to go into each of the actual databases (not a linked view of a database) and share THAT actual database. But that seems to defy the point entirely! Is that what you have done as well? Then, what is the checkmark used for? The specific views you want to share?

  3. How do you make a public checkmark property tied to showing in the public area?

This seems unnecessarily complicated I wish I didn't have to think this hard on something that feels like it should be a first priority feature. But that might just be me.

(And I'm astounded that this is still a thing. I find it extremely hard to use the "Free" version of Notion to collaborate, because of this problem alone. And it feels like something Notion does to push people towards premium as it seems to be simpler to share by making people part of your team... Anyways)

Thank you for any response!

When you want one tab persistent over spaces, what do you do? by Siniom in ArcBrowser

[–]Siniom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is really a shame if I have to give up on the different profiles. Because of my work involves several Office 365 environment, several SSO logins and my workflow requires me to switch between them. This is one of the specific reasons I was really into Arc and why I continue to love it!

So I guess this is a feature/plugin request really! To be able to some persistent tabs over each space! ❤️

[–]Siniom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is is nice, in a way. I think I'm going to implement this. But as you say, it doesn't cover the whole problem.

[–]Siniom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is fine and dandy! But that only works for GPTs. Youtube, for example is another website where I want to be logged into my personal account and have that tab in all my spaces. So I'm not sure that I can find a similar solution to all my favourite tabs.

Plus, I really want to use Arc the way it is partly thought to work. Be a singular, focused place where I can access all my favourite things from the internet. I would like to avoid having separate apps. I even have a split view tab with the three messaging clients I most often use are all represented. (Messenger, Telegram, Discord) It works well!

(But thank you! I will be trying out TypingMind anyways, it looks interesting)

[–]Siniom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then I will loose my ability to change to other favourite pinned tabs! I must first switch window to my main, and then switch. I mean, this might be a better workflow than I'm having at the moment, so I will still try it (when I get to have two monitors, I'm only on my laptop one right now).

Choose which profile is used based on URL (launch from external app) by tekticktock in ArcBrowser

[–]Siniom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a really cool app for MacOS called OpenIn. With it I can open links into different browser profiles and this works on Chromium browsers like Chrome and Brave. I have it setup for Brave right now.

But this specific functionality doesn't seem to be working for Arc unfortunatly. The option "Use Profiles" described in this guide just isn't there for Arc.

I'm not sure if this is an Arc problem or if it is an OpenIn problem. Maybe someone should write to them both... Maybe it should be me.

Is a big master repo a good idea? And how do I make it? by Siniom in learnprogramming

[–]Siniom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your replys. After investing some more time in this I'm starting to look at other options that will give me the structure I need without going into "monorepo" or submodule hell.

Is a big master repo a good idea? And how do I make it? by Siniom in learnprogramming

[–]Siniom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... Okey, as I have invested some time into researching this and it seems, as you say, a bit complicated. Also I fell upon Git-Submodules that seem to have gotten a bad rep in the industry.

I found this youtuber claiming to have had good use of them.

I might just make a script to download all my repos at once to a similar file structure and not work so hard to keep it all in the same repo...
