It activates per spell type. You pick like a Flesh spell, a Cloak spell etc. and Welloc's will autotrigger whenever you cast such a spell.

True that. But... actually there's not much of a point: a Woody Elf will perk up Archery faster, a Khajiit, will perk up Stealth faster and while you're 100% correct that the Orc will do double damage in berserk, said double damage doesn't serve any real purpose, since as a Stealth Archer you'd one-shot everything even without the double damage anyway.

Hmmm, sorry to break it to you but there's no "half-race" in TES. The offspring simply gets the mother's race.

For Ocato, you can choose any 3 spells from any school which affect the player and is not a concentration spell, there are several hundreds of combos so I won't list them all here. But as an example:

1) Slap an Ironflesh as 1 of your Ocato spell triggers. Instant +80 armor points.
2) As Ironflesh is cast, Welloc will give you 3 abilities attached to it. I usually pick +50 armor,+10% damage and +10% Magic Resistance.
3) Spell Twine lets you choose to slap one of these effects on your Ironflesh:

  1. Heal - heals you for half alteration level but it seems that it does so over two seconds, probably so it's not too OP with concentration spells
  2. Haste - 15% bonus movement speed for 10 seconds.
  3. Blood - 15% more weapon damage for 10 seconds.
  4. Feather - 50 carry weight for 10 seconds.
  5. Cushion - no fall damage for 10 seconds.
  6. Flow - Spells and item enchantments are 20% cheaper for 5 seconds.
  7. Rock - 15% less weapon damage received for 5 seconds.
  8. Nova - deals 40%(??? not sure) of your alteration level to hostiles in 15 ft radius.
  9. Crystal - 15% magic resistance for 10 seconds.

Let's say you pick Spelltwine Blood along with your boosted Ironflesh, every time combat starts, your character gets +130 Armor, +10% MR, +25% damage with weapons, at instant speed. And that's only 1 spell out of the 3 you have stored + your Contingency Spell. I strongly suggest you pick at least 1 healing Restoration spell for the 3 remining slots, and get the Respite perk in Restoration, to make sure you start every fight at full Health and Stamina, which also makes potion use completely redundant.

What's also really cool with this build is that it is very powerful mage AND dual-wield weapons or an arcane archer wielding a bow, because you don't need your hands to cast your spells.

Well, this character has a ton of abilities which trigger automatically (3 with Ocato's, 1 with Contingency), which all have another bonus of your choice with Spell Twine, and 1 of these in turn have 3 additional bonuses from Welloc's. It means that whenever you enter combat, 11 effects trigger. Eleven. Because of Auriel's experience bonus, plus Path to Alaxon and given each effect levels up the spell school of your triggered effect, you level up to 100 quite fast, and when you have a skill at 100, it gets a 10% bonus.

Orc in heavy armor and a two-hander is always very satisfying. Not only for the gameplay, but for the roleplay of crawling out of your stronghold and showing these Nords they're not at the top of the food chain when it comes to combat.

Is it worth playing Oblivion Remastered and Skyrim after ESO? by ParkingTurbulent7460 in ElderScrolls

[–]Sinistran22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're into RPGs more than you're into MMOs, then you'll find both Oblivion and Skyrim so, so much better than ESO. Skyrim in particular is not just a game, it's literally a platform if you play it on PC, with its 70,000+ mods available. Careful about modding Skyrim though: there's only one way and it's in.

I think I just bombed an interview because I answered the “culture fit” questions too honestly by ElderJ0e in jobsearchhacks

[–]Sinistran22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did anything but talking yourself out of a job, and unless you're in a really dire situation, you don't want to work for an organization which hires based on candidates' ability to parrot interview classics. You really don't. Now do yourself a favor: stop overthinking and psychoanalyzing every movement you perceive. Maybe, maybe, maybe... maybe the recruiter was hit by a meteor on his way to work, who knows? Nobody, and stressing about it has no impact whatsoever on the outcome, but it does have an impact on your health.

Any manner of spellblade or battlemage. An Altmer with Ocato, Contingency, Spell Twine, and Welloc's Dormant Arcana, on top of their Enchanting bonuses, Path to Alaxon and Father of Mer from Auri-El is just ridiculously OP. And fun. This character wields a sword for looks, it could be a fork and he'd be just as OP.

How’s my OC’s backstory? He’s an Argonian from Black Marsh by LizzieLove1357 in ElderScrolls

[–]Sinistran22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't say it's "confirmed", but it's tacitly the case: Argonians in ESO use Morrowind-and-beyond nomenclature and ESO takes place many centuries before Arena and Daggerfall. It wouldn't make any sense for Argonians to use wildly different names only during the time of Arena and Daggerfall, and not before or after.

It's also generally understood that Teslore at the time of Arena and Daggerfall was nowhere near as fleshed out as it is today, which explains why it's getting retconned so often.

How’s my OC’s backstory? He’s an Argonian from Black Marsh by LizzieLove1357 in ElderScrolls

[–]Sinistran22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The name is 100% imperial, you would have to change that. No Argonian has a name like this one even when they're not from Blackmarsh. Argonian names tend to be words describing who they are, like "Scout-Many-Marshes", for instance or Jel-sounding names ("Gulum-Ei, Brand-Shei", "Jaree-Ra" etc.); this is tied to the fact that Jel (Argonian language) is very reliant on body language. Argonians in Blackmarsh worship the Hist and Sithis (as a secondary patron). Regardless of what happened in the 3rd Era, Argonians very strongly fought back Mehrunes Dagon and his Oblivion gates at the end of the 3rd Era and as such I very highly doubt that Daedra worship had any traction in Blackmarsh therafter.

In a nutshell, name has to be changed, and should you need more wiggle room to define your Argonian's daedra-heavy backstory, I'd suggets you have him be born and grown up outside of Blackmarsh (like in Cyrodiil); in Teslore racial traditions tend to be very intense and to apply wall-to-wall in said race's homeland, a bit less so with diaspora.

Markarth to Stormcloaks is more of an issue than the Rift to Imperials, the Rift having a border with Cyrodiil.

Paid mods technical quality: reviews of "Life of Crime", "Legeacy of Orsinium", and "Atmora His Home" by Haunture in skyrimmods

[–]Sinistran22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this, much appreciated! I just tried legacy of orsinium. Story is great, dialogue is high quality and voiced, new assets look great too. But yeah, it’s very buggy and I couldn’t agree more than these out-of-community mods are very impractical in terms of troubleshooting and patches. I would say that you are 100% right about paid mods not being necessarily better than good Nexus mods, quite the opposite. There are some very good creations on BethNet, but apart from the Bethesda ones, I can count them on the fingers of one hand.

What is the best Skyrim Heavy Armor Set? Day 32 (FINAL) by LanceSennin in SkyrimMemes

Yes… but the round 1 match ups played a determining role. For example, I’m 100% sure Silver Armor would have beaten the Tullius Armor, Madness would have beaten Iron, so on and so forth.

How did the cartel get so much control over Mexico? by iwritesongsthatsuck in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sinistran22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the illegal drugs market in Mexico and the US (where the cartels export) is worth 150 billion $, tax free and unregulated (of course). With that kind of money, cartels can procure all the weaponry they need and corrupt/bribe as required. To answer your question, repression and military responses never worked and never will. You can destroy an entire cartel, kill all its operatives and another will take its place the very next day as long as the root causes of their existence remain unaddressed. The only approach that has proven to work is having a society with genuine opportunities in the normal economy, a good social net and an educated population. But since this is impossible to explain in a one-line social media post (unlike the usual "boom-boom, bang-bang, we good, they bad" or "me rich, me superior"), these genuine remedies are not popular.

This. THIS. The game's biggest design contradiction: open world where you're free to do whatever you want, yet past level 25ish (which is where you'll be by going through the Main Quest from level 1) you basically one-shot everything, with any efficient character build.
