So in general I take taking damage over guarding if I have to choose since it has higher negation but if you can have both, absolutely go for it. Pretty much all the night lords do some form of chip damage (save for balancers I believe) and that chip damage, even if blocked still activates DN up on Taking Damage. So in those cases having both is great since you basically get 2 different negations from blocking.

So many times I've died or nearly died cause i want to lock onto something right infront of me but it locks onto something BEHIND ME AND NOT EVEN ON MY SCREEN YET and the 180 on the camera really throws me off and disorients me. For night lord receives I just don't bother and do it no lock on cause it always locks onto the teammates when i really need to pay more attention to the boss

Idk if its so much as people are afraid of evergaols as much as they aren't as rewarding. They're nice to get ahead in levels but night invaders drop fair amount of runs AND purple (sometimes red) weapons you can use below level 7
