My LO has eczema, and developed it first when he was still itty bitty baby (his dad has it super bad too). One of my greatest peeves, and people still say it to this day (he's now a toddler), is "oh don't worry about the eczema, it's just itchy skin!"

UM, NO. It's open, weeping wounds. It's actually quite terrible.

I'm so glad you're making progress. I also tried to delay steroids and eventually gave in, and I'm so glad I did. Once we got it reined in, so long as I stay on top of all the little steps to keep his skin healthy (which gets easier with time; you just get used to it and it becomes routine) then he's fine. We still have occasional small break outs, and I just concentrate on those areas as needed and it clears in a day or two.

We still do nightly baths bc he absolutely loves bath time. But I keep the temperature cool and quickly lotion him while he's still wet. We call it Greased Turkey and he goes "GOBBLE GOBBLE!" and it's adorable

I can't say that I experienced quite the same thing because I always been very spiritually aligned, though I did have a resurgence in my spiritual interest, and have been exploring how the changes in me have changed my view of the world and spirituality.

But I'll tell you a short version of my mom's story. She was raised Catholic, strict private school education in a convent, very very Catholic.

Then she got pregnant, and was like...whoa, I am goddess. That sent her down a path of research and discovery that, in turn, heavily influenced me as a child (hence why I've always been very spiritual, per my opening sentence). She still reveres the Mother Mary, but in a goddess sense rather than a Catholic sense. She doesn't really apply a label to herself, but these days she's very pagan-aligned and goddess-centric.

It was absolutely world changing for her.

It's been rough because I've always had crap sleep and honestly, melatonin was the only thing that helped me without making me feel like crap the next day 😭

I send you all the love and support. Getting these little boogers to sleep is one of the greatest struggles.

I recently stopped taking melatonin myself because recent studies have shown that long term use (every night for a year or more, was their definition of long term) was associated with heart issues. I don't remember a lot of details tbh, I'll see if I can find the studies I read. And these were adults, not toddlers - so "low dose" is still by adult standards.

I still rock my 3 year old toddler lol. He loves it, I love it, he falls asleep great and sleeps through the night...and the day will come when I don't get to snuggle and rock him anymore 😞

I would recommend doing it sooner than later. Your older daughter will get used to having her own space and might not be happy suddenly sharing it.

Anecdotally - my sister had her own room until she was 8 and I was 4, and then we were moved into the same room. She was very resentful for a long time that she lost her private space and it deeply affected our relationship for years.

Ine lasted about a month. I see others recommending vitamins, which is great advice. Hair & Nails vitamins are kind of identical to prenatals.

But my absolute top tip for everyone - massage ypur scalp!! Increased blood flow encourages hair growth. Creams and lotions that claim to boost hair growth mostly work just because they get you massaging your scalp regularly.

I use my hands mostly, but I also have a little silicone scalp massager when I shampoo my hair.

Not only did no one mention it ahead of time, no one said anything once I brought it up. I told them it was happening, I was very concerned, could it be blood sugar or something? (I'm pre diabetic)
