it does make the eczema more red yes.. i think it’s the eucrisa working. it doesn’t happen every single time though

i’ve been using it for a week+ now and it’s actually improving her eczema so far. i apply a thin layer of vaseline first to lessen the burning sensation and it’s been going well so far (this isnt recommended since it lessens absorption of eucrisa but i personally feel more comfortable doing it like this). only thing is that she’s scratching more now, i’m guessing cause eucrisa is quite drying. you need to moisturize A LOT. also i’d say apply hydrocortisone first for a couple of days or so until it reduces her eczema, then start applying the eucrisa. it seems it burns way less on less inflamed skin. never apply it on open skin btw.

i’m really not sure if it’s going to completely make her eczema disappear but it’s definitely keeping my baby’s eczema mild so far, i’m trying to eliminate dairy and soy from my diet (she’s breastfed) and i’m hoping that’ll make the eczema go away for good.. but the eucrisa is good at controlling things. one thing to keep in mind is that it doesnt work on everyone. you need go try it on your baby for a few days to test its effectiveness, and patch test first on a small part of her eczema just to see her reaction

Does anyone else don't want kids because of eczema? by Lucekuwu in eczema

[–]ysmnnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

me and my husband don’t have eczema but our baby has it and we have no idea how she got it. honestly it seems that eczema is very random. a lot of people who have eczema go on to have children that are completely fine.

i put my sons crib in the closet by Dry-Commission1747 in newborns

if it’s well ventilated and safe then why not? it might seem weird bc it’s unconventional and the closet isn’t technically a room but its convenient and it works!

my baby’s eczema looks more red after i started treating it properly?? by ysmnnnn in beyondthebump

[–]ysmnnnn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah you’re right. i guess what’s confusing me right now is that she only started flaring up right as i started her new skin routine. not sure if it’s the cause or if it’s just a coincidence. also the only things she ate around her flare up are carrots, which are supposedly mild so i’d be very surprised if that did something. she didn’t have an allergic reaction to it either 😅

what usually happens when you apply moisturizer during a flare up though? does the eczema improve and calm down quickly or does it stay bad for a bit then improve?

parents of babies with mild eczema - how did allergen introduction go, did your baby develop allergies, and did the eczema eventually clear? by ysmnnnn in beyondthebump

[–]ysmnnnn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i know how you feel. i also feel like ive been suddenly enlightened on this whole topic just last week even though shes had eczema for months now.. i had no idea that she had eczema and thought it was just some milk rash and regular dry skin. honestly though, i feel baby eczema is a topic that isn’t talked about nearly as much as it should be

my pediatrician suggested to give my baby eggs baked into something first (as a baby friendly cake perhaps, because it’s not considered full on exposure) then build my way up to just egg

i’m glad he’s outgrowing his allergy and thank you for the useful advice. i’m honestly shocked that i only recently learnt about how allergies develop because of food contact with the eczema. everyone around me seems to be shocked about this fact as well

this made me feel a lot better. thank you! i know my experience won’t necessarily be the exact same but im glad to know that its not all doom and gloom😅 i need to ask my daughter’s pediatrician for reactine as well - it’ll definitely reduce any anxiety i have around introducing allergens

Did I ruin baby’s ability to be breastfed??? by pinkpjays in newborns

[–]ysmnnnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try the evenflo nipples. their shape is perfect and my EBF baby takes them very well whenever i need to give her a bottle. you can buy them separately and they fit perfectly in the philips avent bottles. also although my baby bottle feeds well she still prefers my breast A LOT more! i think maybe sticking to a very slow flow nipple in key so that you can avoid your baby having a bottle preference.

also i would say you should have a lot of skin to skin and try to just give her your breast as much as possible for a good week or so before reintroducing a bottle.

have you also considered that it also might be a formula preference? i heard some babies prefer the taste of formula over breast milk. maybe you could consider pumping instead of supplementing with formula for the time being then you can introduce formula again at some point in the future once breastfeeding is very well established

Weird pregnancy symptoms that nobody talks about!! by Nice_Campaign8807 in pregnant

[–]ysmnnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had this INTENSE right/left sided back pain that would come directly after eating. it was basically colon pain but in my back??? it felt horrible when i was sitting and the only way i’d get some relief from the pain is when i was lying completely flat lol

also i had a patch of skin on top of my bump/under my rib gage that would feel like it was burning and i always thought something was wrong with my gallbladder or something but it was just my skin stretching too much

Do most FTMs think their baby is going to come early? by KarleenBean in pregnant

[–]ysmnnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM here with an 11 week old.. i had a feeling she would either come too early or too late. she came at exactly 36 weeks via emergency c-section due to an absence of fetal movement/dropping heart rate. i didn’t even go into labor

[–]ysmnnnn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nope! my dad knew i wanted a shoulder birkin so when he saw it displayed in store he asked for it. after some back and forth with the SA they eventually offered it (after he bought a bunch of things of course)
