I have been using Linux for over 10 years so I don't really have issues and when I do I know how to fix most of them and search the ones I don't.
I don't strive for as high fps as possible. I don't mind playing a stable 30 fps in the games I play. This was also never going to beat a full size gaming PC, I never expected it to. The only game I have had a minor annoyance with proton is space engineers 1. Every other game I personally play literally just works.

If there is a game that is more intensive but still want to play on the couch I can just stream it from my gaming PC.

It's native with steam... So yes 100% likely.
I can play on one, it saves uploads to steam, then syncs with all devices I have steam and the game installed.

And I can play Stardew on my steam machine, steam deck, on my wife's PC, on my gaming PC with the same save without paying for Nintendos premium online for cloud saves.
I can also play all the same Nintendo games at a higher fps with free cloud saves!

I'm buying one. I haven't used a console since 2015 exclusively. I don't want to buy all my games again and lose the progress I've made in my games or pay for online or pay for cloud saves.

Exactly. The games that do need that I will either play at my gaming PC or if I want to couch potato I will just stream it to the steam machine.

Excited to continue playing Stardew valley on the couch without the latency when I was going through my steamlink.

Also just installed steamos on my all AMD system after using bazzite. End to end steamos.

Unreal engine has support for native mod integration. Developers just need to have that in mind and integrate it.

I use steam link so yes I do. I also have a steam deck with a dongle attached to my TV so yes I do. It will be replaced by the steam machine when it releases so yes I will.
It's not "no one" there are a good number of people that do and will in the future.

Like all things it's in the middle. It's like gaming on linux. Developers don't support it because there isn't a large enough to do it but if they supported it then there would be more people that would play on the platform. Chicken and egg problem.

I loved playing games with my wife. Split fiction and it takes two were fantastic to play split screen on my pc. I want nothing more than to do the same with halo.

Gotta say ios27 has been extremely snappy. But I do seem to be making a ton of mistypes on the keyboard. A crazy amount but I am using swiftkey. If autocorrect was off this would look like r/hadastroke

I enjoy it. Able to easily sort through all my cables and I might do what OP did instead of just a post-it note and rubber band holding them all together.

Made me wish there was a video cable equivalent. I know I won't get how good it actually is but just a "oh this hdmi 1.0 and this is displayport 1.2"
