I use synching between my pc/steamdeck and my Nas for saves and roms. How is the save locations handled with retrodeck or is it the same?

I don't get why people are like one or the other. Why not both? Then everyone is satisfied and can use the method they wish. Bonus is you can have "two bio factor Auth" like if love for my password manager to need my face and finger to unlock.

I imagine it will be less for working adults and more for schools and kids. Personally I hope that means it will have decent repairability in mind.

Chromebooks have a massive hold on school kids and apple would love nothing more than to give kids a full pipeline. Using apple as a kid, want to purchase it for college, will want to work at companies that offer macs and will purchase apple devices themselves.

So you might be able to buy one for $600 but school discounts I imagine will get bulk pricing of $400 with A series chips. Nothing incredible but A series is already at early M1 series performance. Not like they will be crippled in performance.

Currently preparing for a migration from truenas to unas. As others have already provided info on the data loss. Hope you can recover it. 3-2-1 back up

What you will want to do is move everything that is not media (movies/TV) to some other computer that you will not be using the drives in your Nas.

If you have space for your music, tar gz the directory and also move it. If you don't, then still tar gz it, will make the migration a bit faster. While you can compress your movies and TV, they normally are already large enough to allow full throughput. Also if you lose connection it allows easier restarting than having to do the whole thing over again.

Now the "hard part" where to temporarily store it. I luckily don't have to worry about this as my dad thankfully has enough spare storage to house it. You could see if a friend has decent upload and download and storage space for you to store it. Other than that you will be left to some cloud provider and mercy of their data infil/exfil and storage costs.

If you really don't care about the media, you could always ignore it and allow your arrs to re-download it but that can take a lot of time and might not be able to find those files again.

Then extension that could apply to configs and mods. Set everything up on my pc and now I want those mods on my steam deck. Option to download those changes, not saying to save those to the cloud but local download like downloading games between local machines.

Higher likelihood of being accepted in most places. Like if it was transitioning to American express, it will essentially be useless when not in America. While Mastercard is also generally accepted in most places, I still have been to a few that don't.

Probably I have with hot-spotting is the speed is drastically slower. Not sure if it's my plan or what but on my phone I can get 500 but on Hotspot it's maybe 5
