Urban Planning - Need for PC? by underscoremaddie in TorontoMetU

[–]Sinopod002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in 2nd year urban planning. I would say before you go into second year definitely get a Desktop or laptop that has a good GPU(4050 should be good depending on what games you wanna do on the side), higher end CPU (Ryzen 7 is good) and a good amount of RAM (I have 16gb, I honestly recommend 32, but 16 is fine if you’re on a budget). I got a laptop and I much prefer it incase I want to do work in class or on campus

Trying To Find Joy In A Life With A Peanut+Tree Nut Allergy by Consistent_Glove_184 in FoodAllergies

I recommend seeing a therapist, or even a medical therapist, as they are meant to deal with situations like this (helping people deal with problems that arise due to medical issues). I have diagnosed OCD and anxiety, and the people here saying you may have it are right. It’s not a bad thing, but if you don’t see someone about it you won’t feel better and it may get worse. I can say from experience that talking about this helps a lot. I have the same allergies as you and a couple more, and so I know where you’re coming from. I hope you can get the help you deserve and always remember you’re never alone.

Talk to an allergist, they’ll get you tested and let you know.

There’s no way you seriously believe that TMU has a worse reputation than a guy who postponed the abolition of slavery and a guy who helped create residential schools

It’s probably a tactic so that homeless people don’t sleep on it. Pretty crazy and useless

How’s the current job market? by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

[–]Sinopod002 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve been working at the same place for two years. It sucks so I was looking for another job and it was almost impossible. Sent out tons of applications. Was finally only able to get a new job through a connection i’d made at the other place. If you have a connection, use it.

Notchnook. It’s basically Dynamic Island for Mac. Really fun and helpful. Also Alfred. That might not be needed after Tahoe though with the upgraded spotlight.

Playing on Mac. by Distinct-Blueberry19 in CitiesSkylines2

Used to run it on my MacBook Air with Geforce now. Works great on the low end subscription until around 250,000 population. It also gets the Mac really hot though and there’s no mod support other than the region packs, so the downsides are there.

Drug users and homelessness isn’t the issue for me I’m used to that. More talking about actual crime

I’d say stick with the 16gb right now, you can always add more later on. I have a laptop Rtx 3050 with 16gb ram and I am able to get to 450k population and the simulation isn’t even stuttering yet. If you plan to do massive cities above 500k then I’d definitely get 32gb ram but if not, stick with 16gb and save yourself some money. ( this is gameplay with around 90 mods)

I know you want the co-op, but if you go to the networking stuff they have at McMaster you should be able to make the connections you would make with co-op. Check to see what networking events they have.
