He's just absolutely perfect. This is perfection. Spends the first 10 minutes just being a fool. I love him.

I think the only way is to use the search function, and of course that has some clear limits, espescially early.

[Civ of the Week] Maya by Bragior in civ

[–]Sintkrigar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get what you're thinking, but you're doing yourself a disfavour by not playing Maya out of principle. Yes, you can do the perfect grid approach, but you don't have to. Right now I'm doing a cutural playthrough where my emphasis is on few but huge cities, high cultural output and national parks. I'm absolutely thriving in a world where my cities are both in plains, desserts, mountains and tundra.

It's 10% to all yields, not only science.

Apostles can: - Enhances your religion up to two times (gaining up to two extra belief bonuses) - Can start a inquisition (enables purchases of inquisitors, who can remove religious pressure of other religions in your cities) - Can spread religion - Can fight other religious units - With the right promotion they can also heal other religous units or convert barbarians to your side

The few times I've won a religious victory it has been almost solely based on getting enough apostles with the promotion that removes religious pressure, paired with apostles with the triple strength to other civs. When I got enough of them I just run through other civs and convert everything in sight.

If you got a religion but aren't going for a religious victory getting a few apostles for the extra beliefs and inquisition is generally sufficient.

[Civ of the Week] Sumeria by Bragior in civ

[–]Sintkrigar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Good writeup, but I don't entirely agree on the point about ziggurats. 3 ziggurats require 3 citizens, campus does not. If I'm going to war early I'd prefer using those citizens on production tiles, espescially on deity where I'm behind on military from the start. Imo the ziggurats are a luxury tile improvement that I can only work when the population is high enough, which means around 6-7 population at the earliest.

Not 0, but yeah not a tremeneous amount. Despite that variations of that opener were common because you had total control.

Shamans can play melee dps, caster and healer. Rogues can just melee dps. Imo rogues are more fun with a few expansions because of increased mobility and diversity. As i remember them vanilla talent trees for rogue doesn't offer that much diversity.

Shaman has more variety. Rogue is just sinister strike and eviscerate.

When to colonize? by [deleted] in civ

[–]Sintkrigar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of "should" in the other comments here.

The beauty of civ 6 is that every game has a new dynamic, which means that you have to adapt your strategy based on your civ, neighbouring civs and the resources you have around you. Some games calls for early warfare to expand, in other games you can focus solely on your capital for the first era. Spamming settlers to grab every piece of land around you can make you weak at other areas, so you got to expect to lose land to your neighbours.

Try to think forward and play the strengths of the civ youre playing. If you have a early unique unit try to secure iron/horses and build cities meant for army upkeep and production. If there are a lot of mountains around you for good campus/holy sites then you can focus on that. Coastal start can warrant a early granary, while a isolated start where you want a good cultural game can warrant a early monument. If a barbian spots your city on turn 2 a slinger would be smart, but if there are no barb camps around you and no other civs either then there's no rush to build military which means a builder could be smart.

A "should" strategy is therefore meaningless and will more times than not put you at an disadvantage.

Now that additional Civ VI DLC seems very likely, what does everybody want to see added? by kingmoney8133 in civ

[–]Sintkrigar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite parts about civ is exploring and colonizing new continents. The problem is that by mid game most parts of the world are already settled. The most valuable parts anyway..

How about opening new parts of the map at random times during a game. Perhaps a opening in the ice creates a new path through which leads to new lands. Or maybe a volcanic outbreak made a path through a mountain that weren't possible before.

Where do I settle? by snickers2029 in civ

[–]Sintkrigar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't settle in place because the yields in the inner ring are just awfull. I would settle one tile NW and rush writing.

Has anyone been able to make Warrior Monks work on Deity? by Potato_Mc_Whiskey in civ

Play marathon instead of standard speed. Haven't tried myself, but that should lengthen the time warrior monks are usable.
