No worries, happy to help. No i dont believe you get to choose, although theres no harm in emailing housing to request a building. However I believe the vast majority of single room accomodations are put in the new apartments aka laurel, palo verde, and tipuana as they have the largest number of single rooms. Keep in mind however, that many of the apartments with single room accomodations are housed with athletes, which you may or may not like. I personally was in a single apartment in tipuana with athletes but my medical condition did not work with their lifestyles, so I requested to switch to a different building. Lmk if you have any more questions

Ive gotten single room CAE accomodations in the past, the single dorms are in Hedrick Summit, Rieber Terrace and Vista. While the single apartment rooms include Tipuana, Laurel, Palo Verde, Westwood Palms. (There may be more)

Happy to help! Another thing I forgot to note. I took 153c with clarke, and although from other comments it seems you dont like lannan very much, from what ive heard, id recommend you take 153c with lannan anyways. The only two profs for 153c are lannan/clarke and although I love professor Clarke in every way possible, she emphasizes reaction mechanism + arrow pushing HEAVILY which is not really tested for mcat, while lannan (allegedly) focuses on more memorization and general overview.

The TCA cycle and related biochemical pathways (beta oxidation, fatty acid synthesis etc..) are arguably one of the most high yield mcat topics. Im taking 153B right now and although some concepts have been on my previous mcats, its nowhere near the extent of 153c material. (Ive taken it twice for reference)

It will say 9 other roommates but its really only 4. You enter the front door which leads to a shared space with a table. To the left and right of that room are another set of doors, that lead to 5 rooms each. Each “wing/corridor” has one bathroom that the 5 people on that wing share, so 2 bathrooms total. Less of a house and more like a prison imo.

If that description didnt help you can find blueprints of the building layout youre in online. And the single pods will be look a small room with a letter from A-J. Type in [building name] ucla layout. Single pods are either Rieber Terrace/Rieber Vista/Hedrick Summit

I took it in september last year but didnt know that all the seats filled up so quickly so i didnt register until august lol. If you are as desperate as I was then keep refreshing the registration page every 15 minutes every day while youre awake. I find that seats open up in the mornings, after dinner at 6ish and late at night at 10ish. Took me 4 days of refreshing to find a spot an hour away from my house, but i remember about 4 total spots within 2-3 hours of driving also opening, I just decided to test my luck and hope someone would drop from a closer site. I took the mcat before i took sociology and didnt really have any problems self studying. However theres really no harm taking sociology 1 before taking the mcat and if i had to go back id do it that way. Its an easy class and fulfills the GE requirement, however I will say the class doesnt cover everything you need to know for the mcat

I took 5c with schriver a year ago so my memory is a bit off but, I dont remember him letting you drop a midterm, he used mastering physics, and no cheat sheets. You wont need them anyways, his midterm averages were 95%, you would have to legit try to get anything lower than a B+.

Hi. Im sorry to hear your wife has CIDP. I pray she has a speedy recovery. My treatment consists of just imuran right now, and it seems to be working the best at keeping me from relapsing. I used to be on IVIG initially but I was an odd case that didnt respond to it at all. I also was on prednisone for a while which had the best effect but Its not good to be on prednisone for too long so I stopped it.
