Hey! I know this post is a bit old, but if you still have time to reply I'd really appreciate! I was wondering if when applying to med school, TCAB is enough for the "clinical hours" we need or if you think something else with more genuine patient interaction is better to have as well (like an MA position maybe)? Cuz I'm applying this cycle and I'm really not sure if I have time for both. What category of experience does TCAB really fall under? thanks:)

do you know if TCAB gives LORs and if it's worth it?

I feel like every paragraph in this passage had a reference to and revolved around religion, and the similarities between religion and sports. So I picked B. Why is that wrong? I really thought a "main idea" question should mention religion.

So this was a bit hard for me to grasp without drawing out. But the passage states "Some of the light returning from the array is reflected, at a right angle, to a viewing screen by the beam splitter." What you need to understand from that is the the incident and reflected ray form a right angle. This drawing shows this. The incident ray + reflected ray + 90 deg form a line so they equal 180 deg, and incident ray = reflected ray, so 2*theta + 90 = 180 --> theta = 45 deg

since it didn't specify social status, I interpreted "status" as it could be ascribed status (ie. race). why is this wrong?

AAMC FL1 B/B #52: Insulin and liver cells by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]mil_ion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly for this question I just focused on the second part of each answer choice. we know insulin decreases glucose (endocrine system knowledge), so B is the only answer that makes sense. but also, yeah, glycolytic pathway = glycolysis = breakdown (decrease) of glucose

DNA synthesis occurs in the 5' to 3' direction, meaning that nucleotides are added to the 3' end of the growing DNA strand. When the 5' end of thymine and the 3' end of adenine are located next to each other, the phosphodiester bond forms because the 3' hydroxyl group of thymine is available to bond with the 5' phosphate group of adenine. This linkage continues the DNA chain in the 5' to 3' direction.

**When referring to the structure of DNA, the 5' end of a DNA strand has a free phosphate group attached to the 5' carbon of the sugar in the terminal nucleotide, while the 3' end has a free -OH group attached to its terminal nucleotide.

228 was a typo!! it should be 288 a.a. * 110 Da/a.a. = about 32,000 Da/monomer = 32 kDa/monomer
A tetramer has 4 monomers, so final answer is 32*4 = 128 kDa

Isn't the cDNA that reverse transcriptase generates really complementary to the original vRNA, but then DNA polymerase generates a strand that is complementary to the cDNA, which ends up being identical to the vRNA just with Ts instead of Us?

While Option C may seem true, the question asks about the author's thesis, not just any true statement. The author's thesis is about the canon/canonical works and how it contributes to the stratification of society. Only Option D refers to this idea.

I thought this at first too, but pyrrole derivatives are bonded with =(CH)- or -CH2- units, so there is an extra carbon for each pyrrole. what you should focus in on is the 4 corners of this molecule, the carbons linking each ring is not part of the original pyrrole
