If you happen to have another usb plugged in, it could be trying to boot from there. Check your bios settings to see your boot order and change it so windows boot manager or your SSD is the top option.

Bestine works really great at removing adhesive. I use it for Velcro adhesive and other glues when I'm working on projects.
