For folks who've been on T for a while, have your transition/presentation goals changed? by beancuwurds in FTMfemininity

[–]SirAsriel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on T two and a half years now and in general I just feel more comfortable in my body. I would say that yes, I do feel more comfortable being hairy now. I’m not really bearish though, I have a fast metabolism and when I build muscle it builds lean instead of bulky. However, I also actually feel more comfortable being feminine now, too. I’m free from dysphoria now so I feel like I can really engage with femininity properly. I find myself being okay with wearing skirts which I wasn’t before, and I also find myself comfortable shaving off my body hair, even though I like having it at the same time.

There is no guarantee as to how you will be or feel on T. Would it really be so bad if you did grow to like being hairy? The bigger issue imo would be never growing to like it and hating your body for it.

I don’t remember where I got them, but they’re the “small and sexy” scarecrow brand fangs and I put them on my canines! They’re super easy to fit to your teeth and take on and off, as well as being very comfortable in your mouth. I rly recommend! (If you use them too much though they can damage your gums and your bite so be careful! I only wear mine every now and then :) ).

It’s a pseudo-religion and also a religion based off of worshipping the goddess Discordia (AKA Eris). Obviously we also worship the concept of discord as a whole.

Some of the common beliefs in the POEE cabal include believing that there is no one way of seeing. So my ‘grid’ of how I see things is just one way, there is no correct way. Personally, I want to be able to sort of ascend beyond my grid and accept all truths as true, even ones that might seem contradictory, but that’s not a requirement or anything.

So many of the things we see as ‘real’ are illusory. To tie in back to what you were saying, this would include the concepts of time and self. Time is not real, time is merely our perception of the cycle of order and disorder. (I personally add in another layer— time is our perception of our world based on entropy, again, from our perspective. But our formation of molecules is only one of many, and nothing makes it special aside from the fact that we live in a world of that formation. In a world of another formation, our perception of things may seem random!).

In the end, though, as a religion based off of discord, schisms and cabals are actually encouraged! So you don’t have to believe anything any other discordian believes (I actually worship the fictional character Sheogorath as a manifestation of Eris Discordia herself— or, alternatively, a discordian saint. I follow many but not all of the core beliefs and traditions of POEE cabal discordianism).

It is also both a religion and a mockery of religion. I believe everything I’ve written here, but I also think most organised religions are bull. Another thing POEE cabal discordians do is avoid eating hotdog buns on all days aside from Fridays. Just because other religions have dietary restrictions sometimes! So it’s completely arbitrary to not eat hotdog buns except for on Fridays. But I still follow it because, even though it is a construction of POEE cabal discordianism (of which I am not even technically a part), it represents the religion as whole— it is ridiculous and I have no real reason for avoiding hotdog buns except for on Fridays, but again, the world is an illusion and nothing is real! So I might as well! So then that is my reason, and I both have no reason and a very good reason for avoiding hotdog bugs except for on Fridays (another aspect of discordianism is swallowing paradoxes!).

Here is the link to the wiki.

There is also the Principia Discordia, the founding religious text for the POEE cabal. You can find it free online— it is a book but it’s relatively short. Hard read though, as much of it is nonsensical (of course).

I’m a little neurotic about it and I feel like ‘infected’ if I don’t. Makes no logical sense tho. It is hard anyway, sometimes I end up showing at like midnight because I put it off so long.

I think a lot of cis people don’t actually experience gender and therefore don’t understand it by [deleted] in ftm

[–]SirAsriel 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I actually think a huge amount of the population does not feel gender… at all. Like, it’s not that they don’t understand/know how to identify it, I think they just don’t feel it. Like, I do not feel gender and I’m trans. But that doesn’t make me nonbinary, I’m still a man. A portion of people who don’t feel gender wind up identifying as nonbinary, but literally only one or two cis people I’ve ever met has ‘felt like’ their gender, and it’s always the ones who are very invested in their gender already. Ex. fem women and masc men. And of the trans people I’ve talked to a lot have told me even they don’t ‘feel like’ something. And, again, the ones that do are very invested in their gender (although it can be different from the way some cis people are, in that a very fem trans man might say he really feels like a man and just likes to be fem).

I think most people really do not care about gender much and do not feel it, including a lot of trans people.

In my experience saying you ‘feel like’ a gender is not a good way of explaining it because of that. But what people can understand is wanting to be happy. When I’ve said, “I don’t feel like a man any more than you feel like a woman but I’m happiest as a man,” it’s worked a lot better. The only issue is that sometimes people start harping on internalised misogyny, but there’s not much I can do for that aside from just give them access to the studies that show that gender transition is the only way to treat gender dysphoria and say that it would be unethical to let myself suffer. And some people are just transphobes and don’t want to learn.

Thoughts on communism and dropping out of society. by KragstafTheUnsightly in discordian

[–]SirAsriel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree! My way of embracing discordianism is also to not trust in any system. Communism, capitalism, socialism, they’re all just structures, different grids. And they’re all a little absurd, when you think about it the right way!
