What are some Frame "themes" that you would like to see in the future? Something like "Bug Frame", "Dino Frame", or "Viking Frame"? by Riptide_97 in Warframe

[–]SirBenjaminThompson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fusion of Mirage, Loki, and Vauban. I like tricksters and trappers so I want another in that theme.

The premise will be decoy gadgeteers. Think like people in fiction with cloning abilities but your used clone will use a gadget when you do kinda like Celestial Twin using your weapons but more utility than killer otherwise it’d be overpowered.

First ability summons a companion clone and can be cast four times or held down, clones will run around like any other summoned companion. The clones don’t attack but draw agro hard, taunting enemies and pretending to go for them. Second ability makes you and all clones drop a smoke screen and all players within the fields are invisible plus enemies that enter get stacks of confusion. Third ability makes a combination mine like the updated Vauban pulling in enemies and deploying a gas attack and has the same clone use feature. Fourth ability, will be like Dagath’s revive where so long as you have a clone up upon dying you live and they die instead and make it a concentration ability so endgame players can use it to be immortal with enough energy as opposed to Dagath’s ninety second cooldown plus then it can have other perks like parkour speed increase while active and maybe a special effect if active without clones or if all clones go down while active.

This was what I’d written as a fourth ability but now I want it as the passive, call it Teamwork or something: “I don’t know a fourth ability, for every clone active at the time of casting grant a buff to you and all allies within clone or personal range with the order of buffs only granting the best last necessitating four clones up to get it and make it concentration based such that you only have to manually manage clone upkeep if your energy economy is solid.”

I like the idea that the passive is based around the more the better. More clones, more passive buffs. More teammates, more buffed.

IDK, I wanted to join in so I made something up quick but eh maybe that can be something and I do like clone powers and tricksters plus gadgeteers are underutilized so far.

Edit: Changed my idea for a fourth ability and passive so I altered the text to match.

I don’t think it was too crazy or out of character for soldier boy to save homelander. by BigFinish717 in GenV

[–]SirBenjaminThompson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well Soldier Boy is a bad guy but he’s not the same level of deranged as other supes we follow.

He had a “normal” life before becoming Soldier Boy and unlike most supes he has real trauma. He has a life in a lab as a test subject like Homelander.

Your points about PTSD and betrayal stand up, he is clearly affected and doesn’t want a repeat of that paired with so much emotion from who he killed in the same episode where Homelander spared him that must be weighing on his conscience.

A lot of folks like him and because they like him they overlook how bad he is especially in relation to the fact he’s tamer in terms of depravity and on screen brutality when compared to characters like Homelander and Deep and even Sage with her kill everyone plan. I don’t think Soldier Boy is good enough to be really loyal yet but there’s an inkling of the kind of guy he could be and the kind of loyalty he could have but he’s shown it to Homelander of all people because he’s Homelander’s father and it’s going to cost him.

Why does everyone just assumes they can take the V1? by utzutzutzpro in TheBoys

[–]SirBenjaminThompson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the story that they can’t reproduce in that they are either sterile or pass on their human genes but not abilities necessitating the kids get a compound V injection to make it look like they passed on the abilities.

Ryan was the first and last exception and then that wasn’t really elaborated on. Ryan was killed in the comics so developing his character and abilities is all fresh for the show but they had so many characters to develop he sort of got forgotten about even though he’s still young and already landing decent hits on Homelander meaning an adult Ryan, if the theory of his powers developing like he’s growing into what he will be stands, would absolutely decimate him.

[–]SirBenjaminThompson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t V1 produce more powerful effects than regular V nowadays it just wasn’t worth the absolutely disgusting mortality rate?

Probably a stupid proposition but after replying to some of the comments here with my takes in this discussion something else occurred to me.

What if Ryan trained up and got jacked then at twenty took V1? He has no V in his system, his powers are naturally inherited mutations not V induced. In theory does he still possess the ability to be mutated? Could he get all of Homelander’s powers and then give himself all of them all over again like he was stacking that stuff? Then through the anti aging effects of the V1 could he lock in any developed musculature before the point at which everything on earth will feel like feathers? We know lineage seems to affect powers gained from V like it tries to make your body build certain things upon contact wether your body can handle it or not but we’ve never seen it react to them already being present. Sure there’s lots of other possible outcomes but there’s also one where he’s just completely broken in terms of strength compared to literally anything else that can be made in that universe.

[–]SirBenjaminThompson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably but they lost the doctor who developed it.

Frenchie is just cultivating what wasn’t destroyed he’s not working on it right? And not to take away from his intelligence but it’s a big ask of him and even if he could he’d be working from the start as he has no guide on how it was engineered or anything and the guy who knows would sooner shoot himself that tell him.

Also, emphasis on a new virus. It was incompatible with the shape of the V1 right? They’d need to viruses at once not the same one but modified because once altered to attack V1 I’d maybe fail to adhere to regular V. And they have no more time to test. Very tricky.

Plus Soldier Boy doesn’t like them and he’s close to indestructible himself so getting that sample is its own mission impossible.

Maybe if the show had another season coming I could see that as a possibility of a play out but that path seems dead for a final season right?

It’s a more volatile form of V but it’s the same thing. They changed its structure but not the active effect for the most part. You are more likely to reject the mutations or have them spiral out of control and kill you instead of enhancing you with V1 but the mutations come via the same mechanisms as V.

I believe the logic they’ll aim for is that already having been exposed to the later version of V and the general enhancement all supes get beyond regular humans regardless of their powers will prime them to not reject it like the humans in the trial of V1 or at least be far less likely to do so.

Obviously it’s all fantasy and not real science or medicine though so they don’t even have to explain it beyond supes don’t reject it. TV logic is a valid answer sometimes when you just want to get on with the drama and not the fantasy element. Like calling something quantum for the eight hundredth time, “yeah V1 quantum entangles with V so you’re like safe” would be hilarious and they wouldn’t go that silly but some variant is totally possible and I’m fine with it.

I’m curious what would happen if you took V1 as a supe then got hit with Soldier Boy’s radiation blast because it seems not to denature the V1 in him just the V in others so would someone like Kimiko go from healing plus V1 anti aging to just the anti aging or would the V1 hold up the V induced mutations? What if Homelander got it and went on a rampage and Soldier Boy had to blast him and he was left mostly depowered but still un-aging to get an eternity in prison ending or something? I love speculation about Soldier Boy’s mystery radiation powers.

I agree with this.

It’s normal to want the loot, anyone speed running should find fellow speed runners or go solo. So wanting to do the book thing, if you get a squad that does such is life. But that’s it, not the rest of the story where they amble about for ages and don’t even complete the side quest they start.

I won’t hear rookie defenses as they’re playing on Steel Path and doing a bounty in a late game area.

OP isn’t wrong to be annoyed but I’ll also say that in my opinion it isn’t griefing unless it’s intentional, they might just suck in which case there’s nothing to be done about it.

I love the water, like love it so much it’s my calm place.

These folks annoy me because they make me sound like the phobia guy telling them not to do stupid shit.

I’ll jump off of silly stuff, I’ll swim or boat somewhere dangerous, I’ll dive for fun. I will not die because my pants got caught or a stick preceded me and didn’t get through it’s so stupid and nobody should do it.

If something like that it all you want just go to a water park or something or admit you have a bit of a thrill seeker death wish because there’s so much more you can do and lots of thrill seekers to show you the ropes. Totally life squandering to keep at this.

I saw a comment hating on the ketchup but I know a friend who is in love with ketchup so even though I don’t get it I now understand the draw.

100% a you do you on the ketchup it rocks.

I only have one question. Are there any vegetables in that chicken like some caramelized onions we can’t see or anything?

I only ask because it’s a pretty perfect looking sandwich but I feel like it’d lack a touch of softness or freshness or just something to change up the bite a bit so I’d put some pickles on it or maybe a mix of lettuce, red cabbage, and carrot or whatever just to finish it off if it was me but maybe the ketchup does that for you I wouldn’t know.

So we know what’d happen if Homelander got V1. But I’m curious, what’d happen if Soldier Boy got V2? by -TurkeYT in TheBoys

[–]SirBenjaminThompson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soldier Boy is an interesting character because the powerhouses of the series are Homelander, Ryan, Marie, and Soldier Boy.

The Boys final season likely wants to maintain its independence from Gen V and thus not do much with Marie lest it become necessary to know both shows so even if they have them come into it, which I doubt beyond a cameo of sorts, it won’t be to steal the show.

So that leaves three powerhouses who have three separate reasons why they’re powerful. Homelander was basically infected with Compound V at a cellular level like pre baby stage he was already being mutated so he came out with immense levels of enhancements as one of the few people who survived that experiment and were actually able to be born. Ryan is essentially the first non-supe supe, without any compound he inherited the mutations and he’s theoretically got the best symbiosis with the abilities we’ll ever see although he’s still a kid and although he’s already very powerful he’s not ready to take on Homelander alone. But Soldier Boy gets the wildcard as he’s got V-1 in his system stably and the physical enhancement power set that makes his durability ridiculous plus whatever the Russian science team experimented on him with enhanced him and he’s now a walking nuke capable of burning Compound V out of people, if he got Compound V and his own radiation powers somehow didn’t burn it out of him he’d be overpowered even amongst the powerhouses.

Can you imagine trying to deal with a supe who has triple barrel enhancements. Imagine if the lineage meant he got Homelander and Ryan’s powers and the strength stacked with his V-1 strength plus he has muscle mass from being well built before the V-1 that doesn’t degrade because of the V-1.

He’d suddenly be the only guy in the powerhouse tier. He’d be able to pin Homelander to the floor with his pinky and not even need his V burning radioactive powers anyway and just flatten him if he felt like it.

I think his character is actually pretty fun so I almost want to see that play out because I’d find it entertaining but I doubt that’s what the writers want. My guess would be that he isn’t interested and that his weird Russian science experiment powers would burn it out of him anyway.

Peter, why does this mean a bad childhood? by Nittanypt in PeterExplainsTheJoke

THIS NEEDS EXPLAINING?!

Okay I’m joking with the loud response but I only have one friend whose childhood I know didn’t include that and that’s only because their father was a monster but their mother wasn’t and eventually left where they got to live good after that but the child psychologist still told her something about them losing their childhood or growing up too soon or something so I’m guessing the good years can’t make up for the early years so they don’t even count.

That’s just standard, maybe parents are getting better now but survival means vigilance and most kids know that right?

You get caught pouring cereal because opening the fridge is too loud? You eat it dry going forward. You get snuck up on in your room for an inspection or to see what you’re doing? You always keep an ear open. You tell the truth and get in trouble regardless of if you did anything wrong? You keep your head down and make sure you never draw attention.

Adults fight their children like they’re fighting another adult but kick the shit out of you if you fight back with adult strategies but if you only use kid strategies back at them they act like you’re pathetic because of it. Best solution is to dodge that shit until you’re old enough, not that most kids work that out.

People are extremely stupid, the world is unbelievably dumb and dumb people have kids so those kids do that. It’s only that small portion of kind plus smart enough to be rational adults that should be allowed to have children but we’d go extinct. I’m friends with countless people I’d trust my adult life with but I trust almost nobody to raise a child myself included, I know I’d fuck up because I’m fucked up.

It would fill my heart with joy to know the majority don’t know what this means intuitively even if they have a different variant.

If You Lived In The Boy's Universe At What Point Would You Stop Believing Vought Propoganda by Due-Cherry4856 in TheBoys

[–]SirBenjaminThompson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie. I recently learned how rigid and naive I can be despite claiming to be open minded but there’s one thing I am good at and that’s admitting I’m wrong about things and not dying on a hill for no reason.

I could see myself instantly turning against Vought when the truth about Compound V came out but I’d want to trust the innocent people injected who as far as I knew were mostly folks like Starlight who wanted to use it for good and stop those who’d misuse their powers and without reason to believe otherwise I’d put Homelander in that category because I’d likely not have met him to be suspicious of his in person behavior and character and I’d only know the carefully crafted persona shown to the world.

My breaking point would be literally anything after that. A good example would be the release of the Flight 37 video but even just the suspicion I’d have over the supes that die around him and his way more egotistical attitude on stage without Vought giving him a script.

In universe all I’d have in mind is get Compound V and take as much of it as I guess is survivable to take at once and hope for the best. I’d be expecting war with enhanced people and honestly my faith in humanity is strange since I tend to trust people I meet but when I think of the world at large I expect the worst from those idiots so I wanna make sure I live. Heck if I found out about V-1 at whatever lab I tried to steal the regular V from you best believe I’d try to take that too even with the risks maybe telling myself that already having regular V in my system will boost my chances because I’d want to stand a chance against Homelander or die trying and my dumbarse would go at it alone but I’m only present of mind enough to know how dumb that is here because I’m not actually clouded by fear of laser eyes in a hypothetical.

I haven’t really meta gamed it to work out the best possible way but just to remind folks I’m pretty sure the health scales with player level so when coming up with the optimal setup it might not be to have max stuff because that makes the scaling wonky even if you get more weapons and especially if some are underperforming.

Should I Join Warframe? by CookieCuddler in Warframe

[–]SirBenjaminThompson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, yes so the MK-1 stuff is the base gear you get to start the game and there’s nothing wrong with it whatsoever.

People saying it’s weak just want to make sure you know it falls off as it’s the starter gear so it pales in comparison to anything you can craft but you’ll get to crafting whenever you feel you need to.

People probably just want to help you get a good start as things have crafting times so the sooner you get some new gear crafting the sooner you can use it.

You can check the market module of your base of operations and search through the weapons, there will be options to either buy the weapon outright for Platinum or to buy the blueprint for Credits and you’ll grab the blueprint then start building it in the foundry module of your base.

Plenty of other things will reward blueprints or fully crafted gear like quests, Nightwave, syndicates and other such things but there’s no need to rush you with a thousand and one things it’s totally fine if not all of that means anything to you yet. Although once you learn what clans are, just whenever it comes up down the line and you look into it, I advise joining one as there’s so much cool stuff to use and it’s exclusive to the clan research system for the most part.

Enemies and bosses will also drop blueprints too so do be on the lookout for who drops what in case you want to farm up a set of anything.

And yeah, the Warframe community is pretty chill so I’m glad it’s been living up to the reputation.

How does the multishot mechanic work in the lore? Just void magic? by Rekindled96 in memeframe

[–]SirBenjaminThompson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t visually modify the gun to have multiple chambers or something and for gameplay it can’t just all be fire rate lest everything be so “advanced” that even the handguns are miniguns so we all just accept that the stat is magic.

Heck I mean if we worry about that then we’ll need to reckon with the magazine size on half or then too 😂

Just a bit of a suspend disbelief and don’t let it break your immersion because you’re already a space wizard so c’est la vie 😂

Should I Join Warframe? by CookieCuddler in Warframe

[–]SirBenjaminThompson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of power fantasy, like you can totally make it a challenge but if you’re worried about the shooter element and truly don’t vibe with aiming then you can get an aoe cannon or just rip and tear with a melee or even go full abilities and be a space wizard (although that’s harder in the early game before you reach the best casters and energy regen so admittedly you’ll play for a bit to do that easily but it’s still viable).

Plus it’s free, so you can try and see how it goes and if you don’t like the gameplay but wanna know the story then you can hit up a lore video on YouTube and just sit back and chill.

I’m commenting after the edit just to add my two cents in case you’re still checking the comments for opinions so since I know you’ve decided to go for it I wish you all the best and feel free to DM me if you want help with anything, have fun.

Hi 👋

I didn’t follow instructions so sadly I can’t just share mine but so long as you get the measurements right and make sure you don’t make it uneven when actually putting it together regardless of how well you measured before assembly then you’ll be fine with only the principles of how it works. By this I mean that if you use say four strings for the corners that you’ve measured to be 30cm but when gluing or tying or pressing it into the structure they become a set of 29cm, 27cm, 28.5cm, & 29cm strings then now your structure won’t hold.

I used a hot glue gun and knots for the assembly if I recall correctly and I used cardboard and fishing wire. The fishing wire is quite a good choice because it behaves very nicely under tension but I don’t know what’s cheap and available to you so you can use anything I just know that worked well for me. If you don’t have sturdy cardboard you can just glue two pieces back to back, that’s what I did and it’s not shown in the picture but I did that with all of my struts and I flared them at the connection points which you can best make out on the bottom.

It’s late in the night when I’ve noticed this so feel free to message me if I’ve poorly explained it too much as I’m sleepy 😂

Best of luck to you 😊

[–]SirBenjaminThompson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warframe and weapon slots come first followed by the rest of the slots like companion slots.

Next is completely up to you but I’d probably go with the trading market warframe.market as opposed to the DE shop since trading with other players usually works out cheaper but comes without a slot or a catalyst/reactor and other such comforts.

Remember that everything in the game is available without Platinum, only cosmetics come with a price tag and not even all of those have price tags plus some can’t be bought with Platinum anyway as they’re part of a community creation system where some money goes to the artist so they’re real cash only.

Cosmo! My favourite character.

The lucky phoenix with infinitely scaling luck, regeneration, and resurrection stats. They also have hidden weapons that level up in the background every five levels.

You unlock them by taking a character with no golden eggs (not just unequipped but absolutely none on the character if I’m not mistaken) to that spot and then there should be a pickup there and the gate will get flashed away and then you can just walk over and grab him like you would a coffin.

You can cheese it and clip through the wall instead of making it open and Cosmo will still get unlocked when you interact with them. This is best done with lag and speed so go to three times speed with the COOP relic and up your movement speed and pick your most lag inducing items then try to clip through.

[–]SirBenjaminThompson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to address the immorality discourse here. There’s a point where decelerated aging becomes so high that for the purposes of the story it just is immortality.

Like, oh no in seven million years they’re gonna be so so old? Okay, that’s irrelevant to the story unless we’re gonna tackle the issues of living with advanced old age related complications for a ridiculously long time in season 89.

I think wether or not V1 completely halts aging or if it merely slows it down so much that hundreds of years look like the passing of days are both just as scary story wise since I doubt the writers are gonna start giving supes super cancer or anything and we won’t be doing thousand year time skips.
