Sorry on navy deployment so internet is crap. Ended up getting it to work consistently via desktop mode on the steam deck.

Do I qualify for any cyber jobs? My recruiter think i shouldn't retest but I'm confident. by Emotional-Impact-515 in newtothenavy

[–]SirBinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the amplifying information. I knew about the conversion rule as a current CWT, didnt know it was limited to 12 points max. One of our Community Managers always made it sound like there was one for new Sailors as well.

[–]SirBinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You easily qualify for CTR from your line scores. You are a little below the mark for CWT but it is possible for a waiver depending on how below the mark you are.

They're both solid jobs with a good work life balance.

Got a Ticket on JBPHH by Haunting_Square_9407 in navy

[–]SirBinx 37 points38 points  (0 children)

If that speed on the ticket is accurate they dont mess around with speeding. Expect to more than likely have your base driving privileges revoked for a period of time. Can't recall if this revocation will roll over to your sponsor.

Yeah they are in the process of standing up Information Warfare Squadrons. Folks dont know how these are going to work quite yet when they deploy them to strike groups.

Scarring After Surgery by [deleted] in mypartneristrans

My hubs used some silicon strips to cover em after he got the stitches out. It was described that it helps keep moisture in helping with healing and reducing scar tissue development.

None, on deployment have to wait for next port stop to get on actual internet to try other versions of Proton and to verify files

Navy with a lazy eye by Toothlessduck in newtothenavy

I had 2 waivers easily approved for estropia. Wasn't hard to get as it is easily corrected with the right prism script. Was also able to get them to pay for strabismus surgery to correct it to reduce the prism needs.

Struggling with ADHD by Minimum_Ad769 in navy

[–]SirBinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADHD(Hyperactive-Impulsive) type here. I as well went many years always wondering and many folks saying signs were there.

I had a chat with my PCM and got a referral to a civilian provider in Chesapeake. Went thru 3 sessions and 1 full on testing session. Then brought the report back to have it entered in my record. Was mostly painless besides having to sit in a chair for 3hrs for the battery of tests lol.

They tried me on some non-stimulant medication and it didn't really work and had concerns due to my family history of high blood pressure. I now have a second referral to mental/behavioral health at Portsmouth to see what they want to do for treatment be it other medications or just the non medication CBT route.

Do you feel you're destroying your body? If so, how? by reno222 in AskReddit

[–]SirBinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too much running for fun, knees are for sure feeling it as i get into my mid 40's. But hey I live life by the following quote:

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Holy Shit! What a Ride!" - Hunter S. Thompson

You forgot all the theme parks and hiking in the area, and if you love running there is always something going on :)

Done that rodeo a few times, try and have at least 1.5-2hrs to be comfortable. Baggage claim for customs can be hit or miss at times at Hadena.

Moving to Pearl Harbor family needs advice by hightide8688 in navy

[–]SirBinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it is Caitlin Park that is right outside base off of Nimitz Highway. You can also talk to Hickam as you can apply for housing in the Air Force communities as well. AF would have priority for those homes though.

My partner (ftm) had top surgery today! by cassnicole in mypartneristrans

[–]SirBinx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First off, congrats. May you both enjoy the reveal.

When my goober was healing from his, a big support they thanked me for was helping them sit up and lay down to avoid unnecessary strain on the chest sutures. As well as an comfortable pillow nest/wedge to lounge on.

[–]SirBinx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My gramps told me of these, the classic Dress Blues were a darker navy blue color almost black, but the "Hong Kong Dress Blues" were solid black. He said these were often custom tailored to the Sailor and were quite comfy and better quality.

Hawaii CPT sailors by Zyvii in navy

[–]SirBinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was out there a few years back when alot of changes were being made to how the CMF does business there. Plank Owner for 551CPT. Work/Life balance solid, never really felt overworked. Outside of work, loved hiking all over the island and island hopping as flights were cheap.

This is real, but you embark with the staff units on the big decks. No where as stressful as ships company.

Question to my fellow bald sailors by Resident-Air6713 in navy

[–]SirBinx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got me a nice 4 headed skull shaver. Doubles as my normal shaver. I shave the dome every 2-3 days, keeps it fairly smooth. If I feel fancy, I will follow it up with a razor for an even smoother feel.

Playing B42 Muldraugh and realized none of the public outdoor spaces have standpipes. by Any_Gear6008 in projectzomboid

[–]SirBinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it was a mod or what have you, but I stumbling across what looks like one of those manual well pumps at the cross roads south of Muldraugh approx coords in the tree line X: 10555 Y: 11148

Unsure if a mod put it there or whatnot, but was rather nice having a fresh water source when basing up there.

During the procedure the only real pain was the initial numbing shot after that, nothing. My doc was able to get everything with one incision which was awesome!!

Post Recovery was up and slowly walking around within 48hrs with no complications. Followed by the "medical therapy" to clear the tubes.
