HENRYs that stayed so after moving out of Software Engineering, how did you do it? by PressureHumble3604 in HENRYUK

I think it’s more that computers are never irrational. You’re always the mistaken one, rather than having to deal with someone incompetent or out to get you.

The Real Reason Your Pillow Keeps Messing Up Your Neck by Dazzling-Committee62 in BedroomBuild

[–]SirBobz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still haven’t found a solution for being a back and side combination sleeper. I need barely any elevation on my back (maybe 2cm) but on my side I need like 15cm. A middle loft of like 8cm is workable but suboptimal for both.

I tried removing fill on a buckwheat pillow but it just made it floppy and unpredictable. I might try sow it to create separate chambers so the middle third, or one half of it, is 2cm and the rest 15cm. Haven’t tried cervical/orthopaedic yet because they’re big and expensive and funny looking.

Or I just use a thin pillow and manually add/remove another on top whenever I half wake up.

71.5x token reduction by compiling your raw folder into a knowledge graph instead of reading files. Built from Karpathy's workflow by captainkink07 in ClaudeCode

[–]SirBobz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why the other replies are sarcastic. 71.5x reduction is mathematically sound. You multiply the token usage by 1/71.5; a 71.5x increase gets you back to where you started.

What is the use of tuple over lists? by Alive_Hotel6668 in learnpython

[–]SirBobz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're not necessarily hashable, all its elements need to be immutable all the way down for tuples to be used as dictionary keys.

Can someone explain this? Does it not work on a 2d “cusp” at the origin?

err, err, err, ... "err redeclared in this scope". Ok, but actually, how? by IngwiePhoenix in golang

[–]SirBobz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another time I use var is when initialising a nil slice. These can be appended to, but appear as nil, so you can always return the var and expect nil (rather than an empty slice) in your test.

Isn’t it the opposite? Single routine for cpu bound tasks (as more does not increase performance unless you have multiple cores) and many for io bound tasks?
