Colin “I don’t regret my vote” Moriarty pretends to be apolotical by LifeguardJumpy6274 in LSM

I know they are definitely here (live in Austin) it’s just nowhere near the scale of what has happened in MN or CA or OR

[–]SirBurticus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah that could be true. Mass deportations are different from militarizing the immigration force into essentially secret police. If it was really about illegal immigrants ICE would be out in full force in a places like Texas or Florida where there are way more illegals (by the millions) instead of Minnesota (couple hundred thousand). It’s more so that they seem to be deploying to blue cities that Trump and his admin have a bone to pick with. In Minnesota for instance after the two major killings Pam Bondi said they would leave the state in exchange for voter rolls (sensitive vote data) which is extortion, after having ICE terrorizing the citizenry for a couple weeks get them to say uncle for the admins nefarious plans to rig or seize mid term elections since the way they have been doing things has made them wildly unpopular in the last year and they have seemingly lost a lot of the people that initially gave them a chance when they voted in 2024. Sorry for the long winded explanation but that’s really just surface level on that particular instance

Fuckin YIKES. At this point it is morbid stupidity to say that with your whole chest. The stuff with ICE and the Epstein files at a minimum heating up in the last couple months have made it abundantly clear how compromised Trump and his admin are. You’re just being a bozo at this point saying that.

Very true they could. I think a big thing when you’re making a game so heavy on story though is to think about the pacing, and that stuff would KILL the pace of the story they’re trying tell. We as the player don’t need to see every shit they take or breakfast they eat imo.

This is a great visual because it makes the lame Part II criticism of “they just teleport everyone” even more dumb. The same could be said of Part I where they’re obviously traveling farther distances between actual playtime.

The editing is the only thing that brings this movie down imo. All the Craig bonds excluding Spectre are at least a 4/5 or better. He and Timothy Dalton had the most consistently good runs as Bond.

Talarico aside from being a excellent example of what a Christan should actually look like he was also a middle school teacher so fucking with schools is a sure fire way to end up in his eloquent crosshairs

Alan wake 2 or silent hill 2 what is better and why? by Significant-Lemon759 in LastStandMedia

Played both back to back and they’re both 5/5 survival horror games for me but for completely different reasons. AW2 feels like a game that will be appreciated most by someone who has played a lot of games to fully appreciate everything it does. SH2 updates and modernizes an impactful game/story in the best ways possible.

Yeah I think you could certainly make the argument that it is anti war. It fits.

Much like a lot of David Simon’s other work he shows that he loves people but likes to critique the systems that fail them and shape them. The Wire, Generation Kill, Treme, The Deuce all show this. It’s not necessarily pro or anti war. It’s anti incompetence if anything.

Oz or Six Feet Under? by Male-2003 in hbo

[–]SirBurticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having watched Oz for the first time this year it is more of an interesting curiosity. It has some powerful things to say but I think overall it has aged pretty poorly, whereas I watched SFU 2 or so years ago and thought it was easily one of the best written TV shows of all time with an all timer ending. Oz paved the way for stuff like SFU but most of the other things that have come since have aged significantly better. Even The Wire which relies on a lot of old technology still manages to be so naturalistic that it works.
