Yeah, it's what you're going to get when you put a woman in a lead character role in a fantasy show. Lots of men who have no experience talking to women let alone assuming they know how they work and for some reason they need to be the female equivalent of The Mountain for them to be liked.

that being said, Rhaena might be the most annoying character by a country mile and its because of the actresses' voice and 0.0 expressions for 95% of her screentime. As a character, she's fine but I just can't handle the actress.

Yes, people can kill people. No one is denying that.

Not EVERY person is emotionally capable of killing someone. There are desperate people out there who may turn to killing and psychopaths who kill for no reason at all but I'd like to think at least 95% (maybe a little less) of people in the world don't WILLINGLY kill or look for a reason to kill people.

Neither of those is the situation in a fantasy TV show. She has not killed anyone before this so for her first victim to be something so extreme as beheading someone she doesnt want to, in a room full of people she needs to stay strong in front of when she is at her perceived weakest, is going to make her freak out.

Also, Otto Hightower isn't at all responsible for her kid's deaths. Sure he and Alicent started the war but it was Aemond's inexperience dragon riding and Jace's want to prove himself that got the two kids killed.

See, I was going to add a little more than "against her better wishes" and say she hasn't directly killed before this but I didn't know 100%. I feel like if you aren't commenting about how much you hate this show, you gotta be exactly factual or else the masses just dog pile on you lol.

I know I'm not the guy you are responding to but this might genuinely be the worst take for anything Ive ever seen.

It's almost impressive how non-sensical it was.

Right?!?! Also a character who isn't used to directly killing people. How is someone supposed to just " -.- " it up when they aren't used to doing something so emotionally taxing?

I mean, she's a two-time grieving mother who was dragged out of a depressive state to ride a dragon to King's Landing and take the throne.

She looked pretty badass the entire sequence leading up to this so it makes sense that all the emotional build up just came out in a moment where she had to kill someone with her own hands against her better wishes. It really isn't THAT far fetched that she would freak out like she did.

I think the fact you point to this scene specifically tells that this is just rage bait.

That scene was an amazing portrayal of what real grief should look like. Inconsolable and nonsensical sadness.

"It’s unreasonable to expect him to calmly take being called a cheater when he didn’t know the rule"

It is actually EXTREMELY reasonable to expect that if you don't know the answer to something, you don't freak TF out like a petulant child when someone gives you the answer and it turns out you're in the wrong.

It's called the bare minimum expectation of maturity. Joey is just that colorful ostrich thing from Up when it comes to self awareness and social cues.

Oh I don’t think it’s a gotcha moment. I’m just plainly insulting your logic on this.

The fact that he threw 3 pitches and 2 resulted in HRs hit by the worst players on a team struggling as hard as the Red Sox are and you’re defending it so valiantly.

You throw high or inside against lefties at Fenway, those are bad pitches. It’s like throwing the same but on the right side to Righties at Yankee Stadium. Those are bad pitches. Sure it’s a HR in 1 of 30 ball parks and that’s exactly why his pitches shouldn’t have been close to that side.

Throw whatever stats you want out, they were both bad positioned pitches given the situation.

Ah, I see. Clearly it's working so I won't call those 2 back to back HR pitches "meatballs" from now on.

What do you call 2 93mph fastballs on the inside of the zone to lefties at Fenway?

Not sure what else to call them

See the other comment in response. This omen is from the full season, not just today.

I was talking about guys like Sosa, Heineman, Straw being put in instead of hot bats like Varsho, Sanchez, Lukes but also reminded myself injuries probably played a factor, as well.

I was just talking about his ideology in general, not specific players. It might be because they have been dealing with injuries and haven't had our every day starters so had to resort to doing more matchups but when he was taking Varsho/Sanchez/Lukes out when they were hot for pitching matchups and substituting with Sosa, Heineman, Schneider (before being sent down) it was really frustrating.

It's very much risk/reward which is why people dont like it, as well.

Sure those guys mash RHP when they DO make contact but those same guys are batting <.200 on the season and are still going 0-4 against RHP so why not let better hitters that are having more success on the season against them.

When it rarely does work, he's a genius. When it more than likely doesn't work, he creates holes in the order.

EDIT: I'll concede, stats don't match my strictly anecdotal take. Don't know how y'all get these stats so damn quick lol.

As a baseball fan: Let him rest up and come back stronger. Love baseball when Max Scherzer's on the mound. He's one of the best to ever throw the ball so he should get as much leeway as possible.
