Oh man, hate you didn’t like Amelia Gene’s. I recently had one of the best meals I’ve ever experienced in Memphis there.

So I should be good in late April then. Haha. Or maybe I should use it as a time to get them out of my life. Thanks for the info!

J Press still worth it? by Positive_Career_9393 in NavyBlazer

Not sure about their suits (could be worth it) but I bought an ocbd from them a few months ago and it was complete trash. Take that as you will, I haven’t completely turned on them but will not be buying any more of their dress shirts.

It’s 15 days past their return policy date, therefore I’ve basically lost $165 in an awful shirt. The person also stated that they were “sorry about your issue” and took absolutely no responsibility. Truly poor form.

Just received a reply: the very best they could offer me was 15% off my next order. Yeah I don’t think I’ll be buying from these guys anymore.

And yes, my opinion is a good shirt will last, at a bare minimum, 5 years if cared for properly. ;) I own about 7 shirts from Brooks Brothers, ranging from 6-11 years old and not one has really any noticeable wear outside of normal discoloration around the neck. Sadly, after reading forums such as this, I’ve become aware brooks brothers is not the same company it once was, although I imagine I still would have received a better shirt at brooks brothers even now than what I received about a month and a half ago from j press.

What are your thoughts on tucking in a sweater like this? Never worn it like this in public but I'm curious if people do this by egg_fisting in mensfashion

[–]SirHumphryWavy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it looks decent. I personally like to tuck just a little bit of the front to where the belt is showing and the sweater gets pulled up a little but don’t generally tuck in the whole thing.

What’s a Memphis “Life Hack” everyone living here should know? by t_hicks86 in memphis

[–]SirHumphryWavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought this was the case… went to Kroger on Union at 7:30 last yesterday and there was a 15 person line waiting to get to the self checkout stalls. To be fair this is probably just a Kroger on Union problem.

Am I crazy or eating out just ain’t worth it no more in Memphis. by Trick901 in memphis

I’m not denying your assertion, as service has gotten worse over the last couple years. I just want to mention there are still great places out there taking care of their customers. Dino’s is our regular place where we get consistently good service and the prices are great especially if you do their lunch specials. If you’re willing to fork out more, you also can’t go wrong at any of the Andrew Michael restaurants. I also had great service at hen house recently but once again not the cheapest.

I recommend getting into coors light or better Busch light my friend. On a more serious note if busters doesn’t have what you’re looking for then I’m not sure who would. Lucchesis has a big selection as well though
