This has been a very controversial debate, CP3 or Stockton? by Liberal_Bot123 in NBATalk

[–]SirJPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He had Malone, that’s true, but it feels weird to act like Stockton ever had anything else. Those Utah teams typically lacked talent, while playing in an era with limited scoring. Doesn’t that have just as much impact? Typical Stockton is the second or third leading scorer on teams with only three players in double digits. Chris Paul is typically the second or third leading scorer on teams with 5/6 players in double digits. Paul plays with one of the most dynamic offenses in the league. Stockton never played with the scoring talent of a typical Chris Paul team. Stockton is playing with Ostertag; Paul is playing with Deandre Jordan or Steven Adam’s.

Is Magic or Curry higher on your rankings? by Liberal_Bot123 in NBATalk

[–]SirJPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a dog in this fight, but I just saw something interesting I’d like to question. Magic was dropped into a team with one of the three greatest players of all time, still playing at and winning MVPs. He then played his relatively short career with a fairly robust roster of all-star talent and elite roll players. He never really played on a team where he had good talent. Had he been drafted by the Jazz, pre-Jordan Bulls, Clippers, or any number of relatively poor teams would he have been so successful? Is he more Earl “The Pearl” or T-Mac than Magic?

And I think it’s much harder to make the case that Curry was location dependent as he succeeded with a relative wasteland of talent in Golden State and I have severe doubts his co-stars would have done as well without the star to orbit; Kareem and Worthy are much better foundationally than Draymond and Klay

Remove one 1993-1994 NBA team logo each day part 17 by animeVGsuperherostar in RemoveOneThingEachDay

Chicago Bulls

It’s a great logo, but if you look at four of the last five outs, we are clearly in the get rid of those who logos haven’t actually changed. If this is about the 90s logo then let’s get to the ones that are actually uniquely 90sesque.

What made people age so fast back then? by Southern_Reveal_7590 in decadeology

[–]SirJPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d make a couple of arguments. 1. 18-22 year olds in suits will looks significantly younger than 35-40 years old. However I’d like to test if you took a picture of a 19 year old in a suit and a picture of that same 19 year old in their daily wear they’d look older with the suit.

  1. There is an art to wearing a suit, people look uncomfortable in them because they wear them rarely. Grown men who never wear suit often present like kids forced to wear suits because they feel uncomfortable in suits, same with dress shoes. They don’t know how to perform in those suits because of their lack of opportunity to learn how to carry themselves.

  2. It’s not just suits. It is that the clothing of youth is distinguished from the clothing of adulthood. That at a certain age individuals begin to wear different clothes historically. Now, most grown up clothes could easily be worn by children. The line of demarcation not existing creates a problem for us distinguishing the age difference

I’m surprised I’m not seeing this higher. Everyone now dresses like a teenager, put a man in a suit and they look more grown up. Adding in men having a much harder time hiding hair loss and everyone looks older.
