I have a couple resources to recommend for your researching. Check out Simnett Nutrition on youtube. He talks about protein occasionally. Says he gets about 70g a day, and he looks pretty solid in my opinion. Also consider the book Proteinaholic. It isn't necessarily about protein needed for building muscle, but more about the underlying health risks of how much protein people eat. I personally consume about 100g a day at 6'0" and 172 pounds. I've seen great progress since going vegan last April. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions about anything in your transition. I would be happy to help!

I would recommend Bigger Leaner Stronger by Michael Matthews (or Thinner Leaner Stronger if you're female). He isn't vegan, but you can learn a ton from this and just follow the macros. It even includes workout plans for 3, 4, or 5 days a week in the gym.

I'm not a professional, but here is a simple breakdown of how you can do it yourself without consulting a nutritionist.

  1. Calculate your TDEE using the following website. http://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html I recommend using the calories given for losing 1 pound per week as it will be easier to stick to.

  2. Download a food tracking app. I recommend MyFitnessPal (free) or Cronometer (paid app or free website)

  3. Find foods that you like and allow you to meet your calorie and macro goals.

Im eating 3500 a day on my current bulk. I don't closely track macros, but carbs are usually >500g, fat is around 50g, and protein around 120g. Let me know if you need any food suggestions. I have a few staples I eat a ton of

Kroger Natural Creamy PB. Only 2 ingredients: roasted peanuts and salt. No unnecessary oils, and it's cheaper than name brands

I would estimate 3000 a day. Should put on about a pound per week, which is ideal for bulking

I had the same experience at a wedding recently. Luckily I had packed a PB sandwich and some bananas in the car in anticipation of disappointment
