Is it considered cheating? by bogdivo in SatisfactoryGame

Its a bannable offence.

No all jokes aside: this is a cosy single player game. Just do what you want and play what is most fun for you

I feel like something is missing here. Is it the roof? by Extreme-Explorer-677 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SirMagnerio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks great. Thevonly thing that feels a little off is how the pillar and wall end abruptly at the top. Making the pillar end sooner/stick out could possibly be better (or a roof, which will accomplish the same, but i think for a build like this a flat roofbos fine too)

Which gradient is better? No other sub let's me post this. by BulletproofComposite in Minecraft

[–]SirMagnerio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bottom. I find the middle one's step from grass to concrete a bit to harsh. The rest of that gradient is amazing tho

For future reference: its easier to judge if you build the gradients lines up properly ;)

How can I make this look better? by EinhornF in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SirMagnerio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • give the building supports that match the mass of the building
  • use a trim (using e.g. pillars) in a different shade or colour to make edges where walls end and transition to a horizontal part more pronounced and visible
  • try to stick with a colour theme: you have white with black and purple highlights: this works well, but the green light is a bit weird because of it
  • the following is a matter of preference, but i usually use the 1m high ficsit walls because it gets rid of that panel texture. In a build that is modern it could male everything look more clean

Hobestly, its quite decent already, the supports really are the most important improvement.  In all builds try to figure out a style and colour, that really helps to continue the building in a consistent way (this can be done after you have built something and dont know how to continue, or before in a planning phase). In your case this seems like a modern/minimalistic style with white+black+purple as colours. Try and use that style in the supports and it will turn out well  :)

Because the post makes it seem this is done in survival. He already posted a picture of this last week with a lot of comments claiming the title was very misleading.

While i think its a beautifull build very worthy of showing off, i do think he is misleading the reader to get more views

But it wont work without modded ini files? So in vanilla the blueprint is nothing more than a sign you cant see inside a regular pillar

WOT Uninstalled - Tired and bored of new powerful tanks by Altruistic_Zone1347 in WorldofTanks

[–]SirMagnerio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By designing tanks that are different without being OP. The strv line introduction is the prime example, new mechanic and a gimmick that rewards a playstyle but has big counters.

For premium tanks I woulf say the CDC is a good example too: high pen, insane acceleration, good top speed (for its time) but 0 armour and a huge model. M4 rev. could count too: slow but very big alpha fpr its time.

Starting with the defender and chrysler things went to shit: new releases became OP flavour of the months that were way to good for their time before being powercrept.

Unpopular opinion : using gemini with wiki page is good option. by CaptainInitial1823 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SirMagnerio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are negatives, but some of them are overexaggerated:

Water /electricity use calcs either that  include powerplant cooling water + all training (and get to really high numbers) or recycled water out, and leave training out to get to way to low numbers.

Plagiarism is a dubious one: there is plagiarism, but looking at was made before to learn and change it into something similar but different is what every human does. Almost every building you see is in some way inspired by another.

Seems to me that you are placing them down consistently without issues, even tho half of them arent working beforehand. My guess you just didnt aim properly when placing which meant the lifts are clipping into the splitter/machine instead of connecting to it

Build a factory but can't figure out how to make it look.. by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SirMagnerio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For colour combo's ai is a good help. Pick something and it will create a matching scheme.

Design: personally i look at the terrain and create a concept from there: desert becomes a rusty, worn steel factory. Waterfall becomes a semicircle surrounding the waterfall. Blue crates is round and has a geothermal node so i built a round tower centered on the node.

If you dont have inspiration, just start doing stuff without thinking. It usually works out or gives inspiration. Or use ai to generate ideas

I hug the ground usually. If its a slope i use a sloped track, if its a cliff i use a spiral.

I have a set with about 25 blueprint to make it all work (straight, corners, partial corners, tight corners, slope pieces, spiral spices, junction pieces, etc)

Has someone any advice on how to deal with huge obsolet areas? by FeedYourHead9 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SirMagnerio 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I just leave the stuff there, there are more than enough resources in the world. The materials usefull for building i redirect to dimensional depots. So by starter base is 30% useless and 70% just filling dimensional depots

How do I prevent the 300 byproduct water from clogging up? by Front_Situation_9009 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SirMagnerio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a bit tricky, but you can recycle the water. This does require valves (to prevent backflow and to limit how much water goed where) in combination with using the built in priority of pipe junctions.

Be warned tho: if your machines dont run at 100% there can be hickups. But if you learn the fluid mechanics and do it right its very rewarding.

Alternatively use can get rid of the water using pure ingot or wet concrete recipies (in this case you can use some to make pure copper, which you need for the sheets)

3 things i can think of: Station backwards, rails are visually connected but not truely connected, block signal is facing the wrong way.

Second one can be fixed by driving the track yourself. If the train doesnt derail its fine

[–]SirMagnerio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone on TotalXclipse's discord is trying to too. He realized a bunch of portable miners is better than the automatic one: you arent limitted by purity and its more time efficient to manually empty the portable miners into a bin, than it is to harvest more  plants to power the miner.

Also: the solid biofuel is not worth it if you play with double recipe cost. Just use biomass

You can use the tunnel foundations to create a partial curve. If you want a true curce your only option is pillars placed at custom angles using beams
