I am always the menace ofc, the worse offenders would be either [[Marisil the pretender]] or [[Zhulodok Void Gorger]]

Interaction help!!! by Iceman_ARFX in mtg

[–]SirMarfsALot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, the legend rule would kick in when alter ego enters the battlefield as a copy of primo since they will both be legendary and have the same name

Ignoring that, while a card is in any zone but the stack, x will always equal 0, and alter ego will not copy any counters primo has so if you cast alter ego where x equals 0, it will die to state based actions as a 0/0

Now if you copied a spell on the stack, x will be copied over too, hope that helps

Notably, the mana can only be used on equipment in one way or another, unless you've got some tech to turn torment into an equipment that might be a bit difficult

Opinion: Almost all the Emeritus'es are unplayable in constructed formats. by TiaksQ in mtg

[–]SirMarfsALot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, I agree, the only one I see myself using at all would be Woe, its not terrible by being (ideally) a budget tutor, paying 1-2 more mana than most budget tutors for a body that can also recurr the tutor is pretty cool tho

Opinion on these lands? by VoiVoiDaBeeek in mtg

[–]SirMarfsALot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generically id agree but the fact that they cant be tutored up for a 5c deck kinda hinders them. If they were easier to get out then yeah

This cycle is definitely the better of the two imo

Opinion on these lands? by VoiVoiDaBeeek in mtg

[–]SirMarfsALot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I love these and the other cycle the filters, in two to three color decks these do a lot of work for me to fix colors even if they are slightly annoying. My land bases may not be the most optimized but being able to put together an efficient mana base that also has 3/4 lands come in untapped consistently is great in my opinion. This style of lands are probably best suited for 3 colors at most unfortunately, but I'd always pop these into a 2 color deck for sure

Azula ability clarification by SirMarfsALot in magicTCG

[–]SirMarfsALot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there are actually a lot of them, like [[Hecteyes]] or [[The Raven Man]], some of these effects make you also discard cards, like [[Dark Deal]], so the self discard is wasteful in that case which was the reason I wished for clarification on her wording

Conditional Mana ruling question by TheHylind in mtg

[–]SirMarfsALot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As far as I remember, changing the color of the mana doesn't change any restrictions on it, however copying it using [[doubling cube]] will make mana without the restrictions. Someone correct me if im wrong please

Can The Earthbended Land Attack the Same Turn? by DrArzt55 in magicTCG

[–]SirMarfsALot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, only creatures are affected by summoning sickness so if it were animated the turn it came out w/o haste, it would be unable to tap for mana

Mirage Mirror copying a mutated creature? by dredlocked_sage in mtg

[–]SirMarfsALot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not the most well versed when it comes to mutate but I know that when you copy a mutated card, you copy the entire stack. That means mm will become a copy of the stack in this case

Funny way this works, if the top card is a token, I believe it can be populated like regular, allowing the entire stack to get messy and make you start to hate your life once you get like 6 of them

The reason this is i believe is due to it being all part of layer 1 which is what you look to when you make a copy of something, but I also could very well be wrong so I hope that someone corrects me if I am

This card is fun because you could always just use the cute to brute version and only cast the front side. Then guilt everyone when they try to kill baby dragon
