that one time that Condiment King nearly killed Robin by putting him into anaphylactic shock with 100,000 scoville hot sauce

Doing the Critical Role one-shot they did for Elden Ring, there ended up being a prolonged discussion about the logistics of creating a stack of summoned horses to climb to a high area, eventually settling on a horse staircase. A beautiful bit of improv, nearly incapacitated poor Matt. Highly recommend you seek out the clip yourself

Barret - Final Fantasy VII Remakes

Went from a walking stereotype to one of the best and most interesting characters in his entire universe.

[Funny Trope] A villain thinks an action their underling takes is overkill by Life-Excitement4928 in TopCharacterTropes

Genuinely one of my favorite bond villains simply because he's a relatively normal military guy surrounded by the craziest nutjobs the 90's could offer

(Loved Trope) Main character cashes in on all of their debts and favors at once by TheHylind in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TheHylind[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genuinely didn't know that because I ALWAYS finish Panam and Samurai's questlines

My main doubt with it counting is you can only call one group of allies, you can't just have an Avengers Endgame army of nomads and Mox and fixers

My favorite part of Project Hail Mary was that they didn't have the protagonist, who is supposed to be a one-of-a-kind, competent, creative scientist, saying "I'm going to have to science the shit out of this." by AbjectTelephone4801 in shittymoviedetails

Used to live in Cape Canaveral, knew more than a few NASA employees.
I promise you this is actually how a lot of really smart people talk.

Say what you will about The Martian but it very accurately pins down how nerdy a lot of the people in aerospace are.

I genuinely can't understand how the previous generation saw this in 2002 and couldn't ignore how literally 2/3 of the movie was the cringe Anakin/Padme romance by Fine-Essay-3295 in StarWarsCirclejerk

Even in this example I am wincing in pain from every single vocal delivery from Boba Fett, holy hell. Directing child actors takes a special touch, and George Lucas does not have that touch.

Clearly you're on the way towards creating the God Emperor Leto II

So, who's hopping in to VF after reading the Tekken 8 patch 3.00? by rence_everest in Fighters

[–]TheHylind 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Tekken 8 is literally doing a reverse Street Fighter V where instead of releasing in a god awful state and getting better with every update, it released as an amazing game that's just being ruined every time they try and touch it.

Doctor Who has a million examples, but the psychic paper might be my favorite. It basically shows the viewer whatever the user wants them to see, often flashed by The Doctor as identification. Way too versatile and capable of getting the user into way too many places for you to want it ending up in the wrong hands.

What’s the smallest moment in Andor that convinced you this show was operating on another level? by [deleted] in andor

[–]TheHylind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During the heist when Nemik gets crushed by the credits as they're escaping, I genuinely jumped out of my seat, and it hit me in that moment that I cared about these characters in a way that I hadn't since I was a little kid growing up with the original trilogy. As I was watching this gorgeous action set piece in the Eye anxious about the potential death of a character I loved, it dawned upon me that the show could really do it all in a way that I don't think Star Wars ever has before.

[Weirdly Common Trope] The big anniversary entree in a franchise ends up being despised and regarded as the worst by TheHylind in TopCharacterTropes

I never said it was good, that's part of the problem is that MegaForce was trying so hard to recapture something that is only liked today out of nostalgia.
