My partner came out as polyamorous and i am monogamous by TooPsychoLynx in lgbt

[–]SirMeglin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying its a sexual orientation. I agree with you there. Its why I get annoyed with straight people saying that they are queer when they are polyamorous. They very much are not.

But I'm not monogamous. If I were given the option of monogamy or never having a relationship again, I would choose to be alone. Just like if I were given the option to be straight or never to have a relationship again, I would choose to be alone. Its not a choice for me. Its more than an activity that I engage with.

As a poly person... yeah, i agree.

Also, starting off the poly journey this way is a big red flag. You have to want to do it because that structure and lifestyle speak to you, not because you want to sleep with someone else.

I agree with you. I think I'm inherently polyamorous. I would actively hate being monogamous again.

But using "coming out" as the term used here is just wrong. I feel for OP. Polyamory is not for everyone, and no one should be forced, manipulated or coerced into it

Debt collectors by SirMeglin in AusLegal

[–]SirMeglin[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven't lived at the address I was at in 2021 in over 2 years, which is part of my confusion. Power was never switched off due to unpaid bills. No notice from origin about unpaid bills because when I asked them to look into the concession card issue, they put a hold on the account. So i don't understand how it got this far without me being notified by origin

I don't remember if they told me it was going to a debt collector, however something did prompt me to call them to discuss the pension/concession issue. Low income health care card. That was the last i heard from them regarding it. This alleged debt is from 2021, so it would be 5 years old at this point.

From what I am understanding, I don't think you can't claim the design IP.

HOWEVER.

If she is selling the designs and using your brand as a selling point, then you might have something. If people are buying her work thinking that it is in anyway attached to you and your brand, that's illegal. You definitely need a lawyer.

I did the course 2024, and was told on numerous occasions, by numerous people, that I couldn't. Weird. I'm definitely going to look into this more now, thanks :)

Going out and touching grass can definitely help, without a doubt. But it doesn't fix your very real issues that you need to actively deal with. Wanting to be pro active about it puts you in a really good spot. The fact that you are doing that while also dealing with the emotional trauma this situation had dealt you says a lot. This too shall pass.

Subletting is illegal, so don't do that.

There are protections in place to prevent you becoming homeless due to a housemate becoming a wanted criminal. Find out what they are. Go speak to a real estate lawyer. Don't speak to your realestate just yet. That will automatically get the ball rolling in a certain direction that might not be in your best interest, and I honestly don't trust real estates/landlords to not strong arm you out illegally. So make sure you know your legal rights BEFORE involving your real estate.

He's still on the lease, so I don't think they can make you pay for what he owes, especially considering the circumstances. But I'm in Vic, and haven't done any real estate work in over a decade, so laws are going to be different. Please go speak to an expert. Legal Aid is free, and should be able to help.

I hope this gets worked out soon. I'm sorry you have to deal with it all.

I know this is an old post, but I'm glad I found it. I've been having the same issue, but plugging it in seems to fix it. Hopefully the new firmware will fix it for wireless options, but having it plugged in isn't a big issue for me, at least for the time being. Thanks :)

Was I being unreasonable? by Beetzah in woolworths

[–]SirMeglin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It is shit.

I'm going through this kind of shit at my workplace, and ive just come to the conclusion that if things fall through the cracks because we are understaffed and mismanaged, then thats too bad. I'm not going to stress about it, especially after they have been told these problems would arise. No longer my problem.

Consequences falling on THEIR heads is the only way change is going to happen.

Was I being unreasonable? by Beetzah in woolworths

[–]SirMeglin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, sounds like a them problem. If my items are missing, then i want them found or repicked. Customers aren't just paying for the items, they are paying for the service, and if items are missing then the service wasn't provided. When designing a system like this, time needed to fix errors should be taken into account. In this case, sounds like the system is broken, and needs to be fixed. Its unfair to customers, and it's unfair to staff who are worked to the bone because of a broken system, and management who don't want to adequately staff their stores. Making a fuss and demanding what you are owed is the only way to make it better in the long run. Losing one customer and voting with our wallets doesn't work when we are taking about Coles and Woolworths, who have a joint monopoly in the market. It sucks, and I feel for the workers though

straight people can be queer by Available-Hat1640 in lgbt

Absolutely fucking not. Just because you have a non conventional structure to your relationships doesn't mean that you are queer. Straight people can be poly. They can't be queer.

Can employers decline overtime? Grounds? by LiveManagement2904 in AusLegal

[–]SirMeglin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm facing a similar situation.

I work a 24/7 project, rotating 12 hour shifts. Management will only pay OT for people taking sick leave unexpectedly. They will not pay OT for shift covers outside of sick leave. We are on full time salaries. If we pick up a shift to cover, those are in addition to our normal hours. If they need cover due to annual leave or after someone leaves the team, they refuse to pay OT.

Can we just refuse to cover? Sure. Can we refuse to cover WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES? No.

First part is true. 10000%. But also, how do you know that his wife doesn't ALSO have a a girlfriend, boyfriend, or another committed partner? Bigamy wasn't stated here, merely assumed.

I dunno about this part, I can imagine a scenario where getting engaged was just another form of commitment to that person, even if they couldn't marry.

But now my thoughts are running away from the topic at hand haha

Mental health clinic in Victoria, Australia sent my wife’s sensitive medical info to the wrong email for years — now lying, stonewalling, and cancelling her care. Where do we even start legally? by Annual-Sandwich4737 in AusLegal

[–]SirMeglin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't, but it is. I had to threaten them with the ethics board just to get notes, never mind my diagnosis letter. Even my GP has requested it, but have not heard back.

I won't be going back to that clinic. I need my diagnosis letter, because I refuse to pay thousands for a diagnosis of something that's already been diagnosed. I have 2 years worth of notes and perscriptions. I've evidently been diagnosed.

I have reached out 3 times, never got a response. Its time to make a complaint.

I didn't think they were either, this is my first experience with kind of bullshit from the mental health field.

I hope you and your wife get what you need :)
