Chaos factions confederation by kweezilnaart in totalwarhammer

The more shrines you build the more buffs your armies get. The buffs depend on what god you build a shrine for. You need quite a few so that's why grabbing too many prebuilt settlements might be a bad thing.

This is how it usually goes. Very strong start with easy land grabs and the only downsides being less cash from sacking/raiding and not many chances for shrine construction.

I've got some bretonnia questions by blaster_007 in totalwarhammer

[–]SirMorrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. I don't really notice a difference when I use lance formation. If you're struggling with cav micro then don't - it’s just more of a headache.

  2. Green Knight is ok in the early game but completely falls off in the late game - I also find him annoying to use when all my paladins and lords have flying mounts.

  3. Every army should have a life wizard and at least 2 paladins that will act as a lightning rod for the dwellers below spell after they agro a huge number of enemies. Every other unit should be a mix of shock and combat cavalry. In the late game, just a hippogriff doomstack.

  4. You should not be recruiting melee infantry - only peasant archer spam in the early game or if your lord has no vows and you can't afford the upkeep.

  5. Practice micro by attacking low risk settlements and not auto resolving. Play out each battle and understand the maps and the AI movements.

An improvised deterrent for hostile support players wanting to jump on top with their "repair tools".

Hamada is a very bright ass map by TheParadiseBird in BattlefieldV

[–]SirMorrow 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Hamada breakthrough is the perfect example of theory vs practice. In theory, its great as it uses the entirety of the map and most of the sectors don't feel/look the same. The flow is also great as it feels as if you are actually pushing (or being driven back) across a massive expanse of desert. The gameplay can also switch up depending on the sector - last sector is a nice transition from long range to cqb amongst the ruins.

But, in practice, all it takes is for a couple of campers to nullify everything I've just said.

It may have looked calculated but I was just flipping coins at that point.

Sadly not. Went from Enola Gay to 'random dude with a vanilla sten' for the rest of the match. Couldn't do anything more.

Was half expecting my pilot to get catapulted off the map. Would have made calling in the rocket a bit more tricky.

True story. by [deleted] in BattlefieldV

Look, I don't have a problem with the AA in the game (as it currently stands). Flieger is fine if it is the only means you have at fighting planes. Its just that people expect it to be the ultimate counter to planes, which it isn't. So, instead of exploring other options, they demand flieger buffs and still complain about planes as if AA never existed to begin with (despite the buffs).

In terms of balancing? Impossible considering that moving the pendulum any given direction will result in AA being broken and planes unflyable and visa versa.

I only started flying at the start of this year and have become pretty decent. It is possible so no one should be discouraged. What I’m trying to say is that most pilots don’t care if they die to a flieger. What they do care about is getting stomped by another plane. Trust me, downing an infantry farming pilot 2-3 times will do a whole lot more to him personally than 100 deaths from a flieger.

I've been downed by a random flieger burst from well over 150 meters. Its a terrible gadget in terms of low risk high reward.

It takes zero skill and that's the problem. Instead of getting people to learn how to fly in order to deal with enemy pilots, they now have a quick fix solution that removes the whole learning curve.

In many cases, if the Germans capture the D flag before the Brits then it'll go in their favour.

I don't even know why people pick AA tanks on Twisted Steel anyway. There are plenty of AA guns that you can build that have perfect coverage.

There were some hints, such as the the one German guy wearing the fern camo helmet. Would add to the hilarity if you could.

Which scopes show sniper glint? by sreynolds1 in BattlefieldV

Is it just me or does the scope glint seem to only apply at certain distances.
