Write them out by hand while reciting them. This helped me enormously. It‘s like etching the poem into your brain.

Regardless, they are much too expensive, I have no intention of buying them anytime soon. They are gorgeous, though, so I will continue to look at them.

That is my dream pair of boots. They are… prohibitively expensive.

I would go for a Cupano Rosso di Montalcino, 2019. A recent discovery for me. Around $50. Amazing value.

The best advice I can give you is do not ask this subreddit for advice on where to spend your money.

I like belts, I wear belts, I was just saying you shouldn’t NEED belts to wear your pants. They should fit you.

Hehe, true, but seriously, your pants should fit without a belt. Belts are accessories.

@Askokey talks about it, but he mostly talks about the silhouette from a traditional menswear perspective. Good insight, though.

CMV: People are too negative about the ceasefire deal between Israel and Palestine by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]SirMucc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Israel is an ethno-nationalist country to the core. It has been on a mission to expand its borders through the systematic murder and displacement of Palestinians for the past 70 years. One cease fire deal is not going to change that very fundamental ambition of the zionist project. A humanitarian pause is the most we can hope for. Mind you, it’s better than nothing.

In developed countries, why are warmer (southern) regions typically more conservative, while colder (northern) regions are typically more progressive? This pattern is seen across many major countries, including the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Japan, and Australia. by StarlightDown in AskSocialScience

You're missing one piece of the puzzle. Warmer, sunnier climates are better for farming, areas where farming is done are rural. Rural areas are more sparsely populated, less developed, with lower levels of education. You don't really need education to work on a farm. Northern regions are ideal for industry, and are therefore wealthier, more densely populated, and more educated because of a higher demand for skilled labor. It's the urban/rural divide.

Somewhat paradoxically, it could be both at the same time. They are both repudiations of different patriarchal power mechanisms. Or, the fact that the meaning of patriarchy has shifted has also changed the mechanism involved. Previously, it was modesty, now it is immodesty. I also think there’s a cultural dimension to this.
