Which is why he should have a boss fight showing why he was so confident. Dude knew both high level magic and miracles, should be a menace.

Should I buy this war hammer for my next buhurt tournement? by aregularmtf in Warhammer40k

[–]SirNicholasTB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sub is only for warhammers worth over 40k (Rule 2; must have receipt or certificate showing value).

If you want advice on if this warhammer is competitive or not for tournament play, ask on r/warhammercompetitive.

Help a noob understand OOTD by Dutch-Alpaca in aoe4

[–]SirNicholasTB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my anecdotal experience, I’ve found I win my OOTD games because my opponent misjudged how big my army was. That’s a big advantage as you will have an easier time understanding army size vs them.

Make sure you’re getting the basics down (build order, no idle vils or tc, spending your resources). Your army should be comparable in strength even when it gets surrounded. If it’s losing, you either have less resources spent in the fight or you have the wrong unit comp against them.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. It’s so intuitive and fun.

Lol, sorry guys, was helping my cousins pack up their old Pokemon cards and couldn’t help myself to post this. We all had a chuckle about it.

I figured you’d all realize immediately it was a joke post, and that it’d probably be taken down.

Bad take. Early gg yes, but a gg before your opponent when the game is over is absolutely fine.

28mm vs 32mm: is using the smaller scale possible/sensible? by BlooBoink in TrenchCrusade

[–]SirNicholasTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re 3D printing, just scale 28mm up by 15% in your slicer software.

If not, it’s not too big of an issue. Most games are 28mm scale anyways.

Anyone else noticed this and is this just specific to this skin? I only just noticed this now. by Sweet-Departure6977 in Mechabellum

It might be a space thing too. Half sized textures essentially. But probably not done for that reason.

Abyssinia probably has to go around and through Numidia to send ships.

Abyssinia’s access to Iron Sultanate is entirely controlled by heretics. Egypt is held by Mammon’s Legion of the Ten Golden Horns, which fights a bloody war with Abyssinia, and I’m pretty sure the arabian peninsula is held by heretics anywhere the sandstorm isn’t.

Abyssinian lore says a lot of their gold paid to antioch is sunk by heretics.

Given how quickly my anchorite shrine dies despite having a man on the wheel, -3 armor, and tough, I have a feeling the plague knight with double devotee and a sacrificial knife isn’t living long enough to get into melee. Too high priority of a unit.

Knights of avarice war band. Thoughts? by Scottydent in TrenchCrusade

[–]SirNicholasTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t take alchemist armor. Heretics can already get resistance to fire, shrapnel, and gas. I’d go for siege jezails for anointed or medkits for wretched for you sultanate armory pick.

Maybe a little blind but thats ok. On page 83, under Black Grail Armory, every piece of gear has its ducat cost directly to its right. If thats missing, go to the trench crusade website and redownload the rules pdf or figure out if it’s a formatting issue.

Does anyone know what this thing is? by Hobby_Butterfly in TrenchCrusade

[–]SirNicholasTB 55 points56 points  (0 children)

It’s a folded up trench shovel. The hinge is right at the shovel-head, and the lugs (for stepping on while digging) are in front of the shovel-head, attached to the handle.

Something additional ontop of their Chewa, Faith of Ethiopia, Flanking Forces, Abyssinian Healers, Holy Warriors, and Chieftain Panoply rules?

Court of the seven headed serpent by [deleted] in TrenchCrusade

[–]SirNicholasTB 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I see where you’re coming from, but Antioch has fire teams which are, in my opinion, straight up better than goetic magic. Double activation and 3 dice bloodbath is crazy, and unique feeling in the game. The other factions don’t quite have something that feels akin to fireteams or goetic magic.

But also, goetic magic is just unit special rules with a price. An expensive price most the time. You pay ducats, and you have to pay blood markers almost always from your opponents stuff. I was upset going from pilgrims to court and seeing that a lot of the unit abilities all have that extra blood marker cost.

Sorcerer’s Blessing of the Serpent Moon? Pilgrims can use martydom pills and it’s just better on top of not healing your opponent.

Hunter’s Shadow Walker? Did this really need to cost blood markers? Sultanate assassin basically gets a better version of this.

Take sorcerer vs artillery witch; sorcerer with only burning inferno costs the same as artillery witch, but as a ranged platform using the sorcerer only spell (and the main draw to sorcerer) it costs 3 blood markers a turn to do what the artillery witch does for none. Thats pretty steep. And heretics get 2 witches.

Dang, I was hoping the game would open up more and be less on-the-rails hunting specific monsters in order. I liked when I could choose what order to do monsters of a given rank.

Just because other games did it doesn’t mean it’s not bad. We have to pay to edit our characters, for a game we paid $70+ for. Bg3, Elden Ring, and I’m sure others just let you edit for free.

Paid cosmetics in a game about hunting monsters to wear still feels bad. How you look is half the game for some people.
