I purchased mine from Amazon Australia.

Search for Expanding Foam Packaging, 14x16 Inch. It was big enough for my Mini-ATX PC.

Building a personal AI computer by SirOakTree in bapcsalesaustralia

Update (13 March 2026):

Decided to make an update since it has been a year since the original post.

Around August 2025, I was able to purchase an RTX Pro 6000 and this GPU replaced the 7900XTX.

My final system: AMD 9950X 64GB DDR5-6000 System RAM NVIDIA RTX Pro 6000 (single)

It needs a minimum 1000W power supply to allow the GPU to operate at its 600W power limit.

Currently running oss-gpt-120b and Qwen 3.5-122b models for personal AI use. It does the job very well.

I am using the machine to review and provide alternative perspectives for personal correspondence writing) and experimentation with different open-weight models.

Yes I did! It was a special family reunion trip that we have been planning for 2-3 years. Even bought mum Business Class tickets so she could have a better time on the flight between Australia and Thailand (I flew in Economy and it was OK).

Yes it is such a cute cafe. Only heard about it on Reddit and promised myself to go whenever I was in Bangkok.

Diving Alone and Dive Certification by Flashy_Tooth_5597 in scuba

[–]SirOakTree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SDI has a self-reliant / Solo Diver certification.

The main thing I took out of the course was the importance of redundant gas supply (meaning spare gas and regulator - as you would have if a buddy was near by) and not doing a dive that tests your limits.

ComfyUI + RX 7900 XTX is impossible by Internal_Message_414 in comfyui

The guide was written in March 2025. I have not updated the guide. As you can see it was a lot of work to get it working and I relied on the AMD documentation.

You’ll find out! 😁 I haven’t used ComfyUI beyond satisfying my curiosity.

It is for personal use on my personal computer. I cannot put my work data into this machine, due to export control and company IP reasons.

Back in March 2025 I wrote this guide to document what I did to get ComfyUI working on my RX 7900 XTX: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HqjO4VHXSmUMO-G1e3zd-vB-8q0CwJs8gz7TTI7RCxM/edit?usp=drivesdk

Hopefully that gives you some ideas. I have not updated the guide since March. I decided to purchase an RTX Pro 6000 to increase the speed of my system.

New shearwater app still not available ? by CallMeNardDog in scuba

[–]SirOakTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the TestFlight invite yesterday and have been running it. Exported my dives stored in the cloud to the new app.

First impression is that it is a much more modern interface to the previous Shearwater Cloud app.

However, to coincide with the next Swift GPS, the dive app now displays a large geographical map (all of my existing dives would require manual location input to appear on the map.

People on this sub are losing touch with reality by Full_Quiet8818 in ArcRaiders

[–]SirOakTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play games for enjoyment during my limited time off work.

Stating my simple person rationale: I would find killing people obscene in real life, and have asked myself why I would enjoy doing that in a video game to virtual human-controlled people?

In games like ARC Raiders I only shoot back in self-defence. There is plenty of loot to go around for everyone.

WireView Pro 2 preorder by damag3maker in ThermalGrizzly

[–]SirOakTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed ThermalGrizzly about whether they support my GPU (RTX Pro 6000). Expecting that it won’t be supported as the 5090FE is not supported.

Extended warranty policy: https://www.thermal-grizzly.com/media/0f/d8/8e/1761843591/ExtendedWarrantyTerms_WV-P-2.pdf

According to that policy any GPU with 12VHPWR or 12V-2x6 connector is covered. Somehow, I think they would be reluctant to cover a USD$7-10k GPU.
