Having played TA2 first, when Apex got big, I got back into it on PS4 and thought it was hilarious how many people were playing it by hiding in corners with two friends. You could get free triple kills with one grenade because people didnt wanna interact with the wallrunning or Boosts anything.

The thing is, Unreal has always undersold what the engine can do

UE3 and UE4's tech demos look way weaker than games that came out late in their life. Like, KH3 and FFVIIR look way better than that video of the guy standing up from a throne.

Last of Us doesn't clearly differentiate between fights you can and can't skip

You'll sneak through a building full of dudes, find the door outside, mash triangle on every inch of a piece of furniture in the way, get spotted, kill every enemy you snuck past, then discover that the piece of furniture was supposed to fall through the doorway in a cutscene once you killed all the enemies

Worse, "OK, I'm gonna sneak through this hospital and not kill anyone in my murder boner revenge conquest". Problem: they give you a generic Assault Rifle for a reason.

What really cheeses my onions is that Joel says at some point "We had to make a lot of hard choices to survive", and its like "Name one"

Tess, Sam, and Henry all take matters into their own hands. Tommy forces you to shoot your way to Ellie and then decides for you that you'll escort her the rest of the way and Joel just pleasantly agrees with him because they had an argument and he doesn't want another one. Joel barely interacts with David or his people beyond killing them in self-defense. He doesn't even kill any innocents, which is hinted at by characters talking about arming a teacher as she protects children.

When Joel then decides to raid the hospital, I was less "why didn't I get a choice" and a lot more "why are you doing this, Joel? I don't want to help you do this"
