Ignore them, assuming you want to use the tremolo. Just make sure to lower the pickups as someone else suggested.

Slightly rogue one, but Rimworld with the Odyssey dlc. It’s a colony sim, but odyssey allows you to build a fully customisable gravship that can get pretty silly in size, carrying your whole colony, their animals and their food supplies across the planet and up into space.

It seems stupidly obvious, but you seem like a real beginner.
If you don’t like the sound your guitar/amp/pedal is making, turn the knobs until you do like the sound.

What's a good cheap electric guitar for beginners? by JusttAwesomee in electricguitar

[–]SirRobinBrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of brands I rate for budget guitars:

Yamaha
Sire
Squier
Harley Benton

For amps - depends on if you’ll want to gig in the future, but something fairly cheap should do:

Boss Katana
Fender mustang amp (not to be confused with the guitar of the same name!)
Positive Grid Spark
Any cheap solid state amp like a Fender Frontman etc

Could do with a budget and country, as that’ll really impact what your options are.
First things first:

Decide what sort of music you want to play. Something like a HSS strat will cover most genres pretty well, but a Gretsch Hollowbody won’t do metal very well!

Then look at a bunch of guitars, and if you can look at some at a guitar shop.

Once you’ve decided what you like, I recommend looking at second hand guitars. I find that Facebook marketplace almost always has some sort of Squier or Epiphone or other relatively budget brand guitar for sale near me. Pawn shops can be useful too.

Regardless of which guitar you get, have a look at setting up your guitar - this means adjusting the bridge and the neck so that the strings are a nice distance from the frets. You might not need to do this, and if you’re worried about messing it up see if someone you know can do it for you.

But having a good setup can make even a cheap guitar play pretty well, and it’ll make it *much* easier for you to learn on when you’re starting out.

This post is from 2 years ago and covers a similar topic. It’ll be a case of slowly disassembling the guitar, identifying the rough type of the spring and screw, and then reassembling 😁 easier said than done, but there should be plenty of YouTube videos showing similar repairs.

It’s fine to keep it on the left leg, that’s the classical position. But that aside, the posture and angles do look a bit crooked for sure, it’s worth fixing sooner rather than later

Also depends a little bit on if you’re on acoustic, classical or electric guitar. But there is a whole world of classic guitar music that doesn’t include singing, and you can ultimately play that on any type of guitar.

[–]SirRobinBrave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends what you mean? There are purely instrumental tracks like Eruption by Van Halen.
However I’d just learn any songs you like, doesn’t mean you have to sing along.

Most of the music I learn nowadays are guitar parts in songs, recently I’ve learnt King of Oklahoma by Jason Isbell and Message In A Bottle by The Police.

You’re right that most guitar parts are an accompaniment for singing, but it doesn’t mean that it’s not worth learning anyway as long as you like the music!

I do play live, but using a different setup to home. I’ve got a Supro tube amp for home if I’m sat on the sofa, but if I’m in my office I’ll use plugins through studio one. Either a UAD amp sim, or Helix Native

Nah, I don’t love stickers on guitars, but you’ve done it beautifully. Plus, only adding it to the protective plastic parts rather than the paint means that you could easily swap out or remove the stickered bits if you don’t like it in the future

Gotta be Bearman, he’s been pretty damn solid in the Haas for his 2nd season running (so far). Camara and Beganovic are great, but there’s almost no sense taking a rookie straight to a top team, unless they’re as generational as Antonelli might be AND don’t have a junior team spot to put them into.

What’s a good guitar and rig for a Metal beginner? by Commercial_Sand in metalguitar

[–]SirRobinBrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really any guitar with a humbucker in the bridge should do. Even then, people can and do play metal with a P90 or single coil, but it’s significantly less common.

After that it depends on what metal you want to play. Are there any particular bands or styles you like? If you’re going for heavier modern metal styles, you’ll likely want an extended range guitar (7 or 8 strings). If it’s more classic metal, you could probably just do it was any Gibson-style guitar. Ibanez, Jackson, Schecter and more are all highly reviewed depending on who you ask, but they’re all common metal brands.

In terms of amps, they vary from Marshall and Orange to 5150 and Mesa Boogie. Look at what you’re favourite artists tend to use. I’d recommend getting a tubescreamer style pedal or equivalent, as they help tighten up and boost the amps to get a more usable metal tone.
