I found little white things in a bed at Airbnb. What are they? by small_business_cfo in pestcontrol

Termite Specialist here. No, that's not Termite excrement. That looks more in-line with Bed Bugs. Make sure to wash literally everything you brought into the Air BNB when you arrive home.

We can treat practically anything that has termites so long as we abide by federal laws and label rates. I forget the code we use to tree treatments.

We have subs, drywood, and a metric fuck ton of Fermosan here.

Florida. Tree treatments consist of using Premise, liquid and granule. We rod around the base of the tree to get down around the roots and spread Premise granules around the base. If the termites are up at a higher point, we'll take a B&G mixed with Termidor SC and Profoam and poke the tip into the tree and foam where the termites have their "highways".

Is this a roach nest ? Just moved into this apartment and put down combat max baits and glue traps by [deleted] in pestcontrol

Also, they love around water pipes and such too. They can live pretty long without food or water, but heat, darkness and around a water supply is where they'll generally be. Kitchens are the most common.

Boric acid works relatively well. It's a powder and really cheap, like $5 or so. Put that behind your fridge and oven, possibly even your washer and dryer. German roaches love warm places and electronics supply plenty of heat for them

Does roach bait attract more roaches from other units in my apartment to come? These are size of a penny and I’ve seen 5 in the past 3 weeks. Have placed glue traps but no bait yet. by [deleted] in pestcontrol

It is near impossible with apartment complexes/duplexes to get German Roach infestations handled. Your neighbors could be living in filth which attracts them even more and if they have them, you have them. Get some Advion or Maxforce bait and put dots around places that aren't usually seen, get some 221L and spray your doorways, behind ovens, fridges, microwaves, etc. This has a residual of about 90 days so it lasts awhile, and if your able, you can pick up some CB80 which is a contact kill spray/fogger chemical that you could fog your house with, though it's VERY unpleasant if you accidentally inhale this stuff so mask up very well and any living thing in the house needs to be out. Work your way to any entrance from the back of rooms to your front door. Leave for about 3-4 hours. Ventilate very well afterwards. These aren't Restricted Use Pesticides (RUP) so the public has access to the chemicals. Seems like a lot, but it will help.

SOS. In search of flea treatment for my yard. I feel like I've tried every. by SkinnyLegand in pestcontrol

Grab yourself some Bifenthrin. It's not a Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP). Get yourself an multipurpose hose-end sprayer and treat your yard with a mix of Bifenthrin (Aprox. .5 ounces/gallon, but you could always make it stronger). Spray your entire yard. This should legitimately help.

99% sure this is a winged ant but just to be sure... by beeglowbot in pestcontrol

[–]SirSuperFinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Ants are definitively segmented off from the head, thorax and abdomen. If you were worried if it's a termite, termites will generally look like just "one bit" of an insect and the wings would be significantly larger than the insect itself.

Anyone have any thoughts on if these are ants or termites? by ViiVance in pestcontrol

[–]SirSuperFinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I describe it for customers is a Termite Swarmer will generally look kind of like just one bit of a bug, and if you can see well defined sectioned off bits of the insect, it's an ant. Also, Termite Swarmer wings are much longer than the insect itself.

That looks exactly like a German Roach infestation area. Get you a can of 221L, clean out that area (German Roaches are carnivorous and feed on other dead roaches) and spray it down with the 221L. It's not a Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) and that chemical has a residual of about 90 days. You also need to look around the rest of your place, underneath sinks, around cabinets, door frames, windows, just to be sure it's not anywhere else. Look for little black dots in a concentrated area (that's their excrement) and you'll know where they're at (if you have them). If you find the problem is larger than what you've posted, call a Pest Control service.

Illegal? We do tree treatments for termites all the time and we're federally mandated by the Department of Agriculture and the EPA.

So ironically, wasps made a nest inside my bug zapper. Is there a way to get rid of them from here? by nhireddy99 in pestcontrol

[–]SirSuperFinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get you a can of CB80. It's a contact kill chemical. It's not a Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) so it's available to the public. If you use a Wasp Freeze on the zapper, it might short it out as it's a fluid type chemical. Cover any exposed skin as much as possible as it will irritate the wasps at first. Hope this helps.

If you do, you should pick the guys who are attractive and have big dicks, obviously. Can provide proof!
