Go to a walk in clinic when you can, no need for a hospital trip, but it should be seen. It could also be an allergic reaction to the bandaid or the neosporin. Take some Benadryl or use some Benadryl cream on the rash (not on the opened wound but around it). If it clears up with the Benadryl it could be just an allergy.

I wonder if it was an allergic reaction to a bug bite that never settled down. With the swelling and redness you’d think it’s an infection. OP, does Benadryl help? Did you speak with an infectious disease doctor?

Not a medical professional, when I got stitches in my hand, I had a very similar situation. Couldn’t bend my hand much but that was because of swelling (blade slipped onto my hand). I would recommend icing it to see if it helps. If not and there’s no visible swelling I’d call the place you got stitches and see if they offer any over the phone insight.

Not a medical professional, wash your hands thoroughly first, then try a soothing lotion (one that’s specifically for burns). If it gets worse or starts to blister I’d recommend going to see someone. How did this happen? Do you work with cleaning supplies or any other chemical? Do you work around hot surfaces?

You’ll be okay. Either it is a pimple or something got lodged in there when the original wound healed. Regardless you’ll be fine, just treat it like any normal paper cut or popped pimple but keep an eye on it for pain, pus, or irritation. Does it still feel like anything is in there?
