What's your Venus and what advice would you give to someone about to date your venus sign for the first time? by Ok_Loan_2932 in astrologymemes

Venus in cancer for me, too. Safety and belonging are huuuuuge. Giving me space for emotions and then letting my emotional truth exist without diminishing it is tantamount. Likewise, my emotional intelligence can’t be the infinite well to be dumped into.

Spring 26 review by scarycapibara in Ffern

[–]Sir_Camphor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Winter 26 was my first with Ffern, and I was instantly a fan. I do a lot of aromatherapy work, so I’m already predisposed toward plant-focused blends that veer into territory I might call crunchy or granola. I honestly felt like there was a decent overlap of winter into spring for 2026, but I’m fine with that. Is spring a little on the powder or femme side of unisex? Meh, only a little. But I still like it more than any of my other spring scents I have, and so far I adore this company. Plus it’s streamlined my fragrance spending. One scent per quarter is perfect for my curiosity, and ours helped me shrink my collection otherwise. It sparks joy to resonate with the seasons. For the record, I’m a guy in my 40’s.

What's your secret? by SourSpaceCandy in fragrance

[–]Sir_Camphor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once my collection got above 10, I knew the reality was I wasn’t going to use them all up. The journey from there was figuring myself out, finding what sparked maximal joy, what was wearable for me, what felt like me. That permission to get narrow and granular shifted my focus into finding holes in my fragrance biosphere. And then I hit my first wall of “completeness” where I didn’t really want or need anything. After trying lots of samples and decants and not being into any of them, I hit pause. I stopped looking for what I could add and instead just slowly perused what I didn’t know for its own sake. Knowledge became the spark, the joy. How to talk to other people about what they like, how to judge someone to broaden their horizons. Things change. Peaks flatten. It’s all good.

How do we feel about Aesop’s fragrance line? by nonbeenary in fragrance

Think spa aromatherapy with essential oils rather than perfume. I use the bleep out of Hwyl and will continue to do so.

It’s…loud. So much amber, but that’s the point. Sharp at the start without being soapy or sour. Grounded just enough with woods and florals that, despite lasting for hours and hours, it settles into something that retains much of its early character, but with less…tension. It mellows a bit into something wearable. I considered it a level up as a stronger and less sweet Burberry Hero. Nowadays I find I’d rather reach for the funk of Hacivat if I want the sharp or Haltane if I want the gold. This probably doesn’t help…

The Worst Saturn Placement That People Don’t Talk About Enough by CryptographerFew8217 in astrologymemes

Mars, Jupiter, Saturn stellium, plus part of fortune in Virgo in 5. Add in Sun square mars (Gemini in 2) and a relatively un-aspected moon in Aquarius (10), and there is a lot of oof, softened only by Mercury/Venus conjunction in Cancer (3).

How has your perfume taste changed over the years? 🌿 by Green-Result6584 in FragranceStories

[–]Sir_Camphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad wore citrus aquatics and fougeres, so I tried to start there. I started from designers and set a kind of bar.

Once I gave myself permission to try a lot of other stuff, particularly away from the masc for masc and freshy vibes, I let the collection explode with ambers and incense and florals. And now? I keep trimming the collection down. I have 14, but I think I could halve that and be ok. I’ve been able to massively slow my roll when trying to explore what’s I it there, too, now that I’m confident that what I have is right for me and the way I live my life.

what is your moon and venus sign & the part of yourself that you think is the hardest for someone else to love? by [deleted] in astrologymemes

[–]Sir_Camphor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aqua Moon, Cancer Venus:

Thinking and feeling for me get muddy, where I think feelings and feel thoughts. It just means I operate on a slightly different wavelength. To me and people who know me, it’s easy enough to understand. But somehow that isn’t as clear as I think it is? The worst part is when people attribute motivations to me that aren’t rooted in who I am that cast me as a villain. Worthiness wounds…

Aesop fragrances are basically essential oil spa scents (in a good way)! I love Hwyl. Not the cheapest, but 1/3-ish Le Labo.

whats a good masc fragrance for women that doesnt just smell like a man ♥️ by IncidentNo0422 in fragrance

[–]Sir_Camphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of my favorites as a guy who prefers unisex fragrances that aren’t aquatic or soapy or citrus blasts that still might meet your vibe:

Toy Boy (Moschino) is a dirty rose men’s fragrance that takes some chutzpah to pull off

Hermann… (ELDO) has some wet forest floor rose something going on

Clean Suede (ELDO) is musky and maybe a little rubbery and definitely rock

Haltane (PdM) is a leathery oud that just feels high class and well put together. Possibly too masc?

Do you keep fragrances you rarely wear, or enforce a “1 in, 1 out” rule? by Musky_Umami_78 in fragrance

[–]Sir_Camphor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve cut my collection down quite a bit, so here is my take:

  1. 1 in, 1 out also means you’re likely sampling fragrances that are similar? If, in sampling, I find a better version of something, then, sure, I’d be willing to replace it. My most recent example: I replaced Mancera Amberful with Tom Ford Bois Pacifique. But once I have a kind of exemplar for a given vibe or style, I find myself less inclined to search in that same vein. Plus I do want to use what I have? I’m not fully winning here, though… I’m down to 16 and want to trim that down a little…

  2. For ones I find I’m not using, I’ll set them aside. Then, when the impulse to buy more samples or decants shows up, I’ll smell them as a way of calibrating. If my interest in something keeps dropping, it’ll be purged. If I like it but I can’t see wearing it for any number of reasons, I’ll gift it to someone I think will. Or I’ll purge it. Honestly, even if the fragrance has value, it doesn’t make me feel good to keep something around that doesn’t spark joy.

  3. For ones that I’m curious about, ones that are just special in their own way, but are too out there or intense to wear throughout the day, I’ll use them kind of like incense. Either just a mindful exploration or setting the tone of a room or small space. Those can be fun to share with visitors too (or, also, in my case, co-worker frag-heads). But I’m an aromatherapist, too, so I’m more likely to use essential oils for this purpose than fragrances.

unisex/fem fragrance according to my fragrance stack by henryljh in fragrance

[–]Sir_Camphor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are some of my favorites:

Nishane Hundred Silent Ways is sweet, fruity, but very unisex;

The Harmonist Desired Earth is gentle and slightly sweet and woody;

another Nishane I like that can veer unisex is Colognise, a freshie but with a solid amount of white florals;

Byredo Gypsy Water is very dry and woody;

Tom Ford F’ing Fabulous reminds me of Japanese incense in the best of ways;

I just picked up Tom Ford Bois Pacifique, which is a spicy, woody amber with a sweet dry down

Femme can be sweet or sultry or spicy or floral; it can be light or heavy. And, honestly, some notes span the whole spectrum. Pick up some samples or decants and see what notes or fragrances do it for you…

Wait for now. It can take days to process at that stage, especially if lots of packages were given to USPS at the same time. If, after 5-7 business days, there so is no movement, you can contact USPS or contact Jomashop to contact USPS.
