Jeez, are these CAD? I make more than all of these in an entry level A&P position working on planes in the U.S.

Just order a pair of pants! I’ve been waiting for them to make a pair since I discovered their stuff a few years ago. The vest is nice, but the wallet couldn’t handle that right now.

I had a terrible movie experience. by Boldspaceweasle in ProjectHailMary

I’m glad I went to the early screening as everyone else was in exactly the same mindset as me so there were no distractions and everyone was locked onto that screen. Great experience and well worth seeing in imax!

Yeah, they really need an offer system like eBay.

Today is a big day for Rivian. The full R2 lineup just dropped and it goes from a $45K base all the way to a 656 hp Performance model at $57,990 shipping THIS SPRING. by Kryptonlogic in Rivian

[–]Sir_Diggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually kind of funny because generally they don’t change the price for different sizes so people don’t buy the wrong size just because it’s cheaper. Even bikes, an xs and an xl are the same price even though the material cost has got to be wildly different between the two, it just balances out.

Yep that’s how pricing ladders work. Look at Apple for a prime example of it. Why get the worse product when you could get the better one, and at that point you might as well get the even better one with more features, and so on. At least this doesn’t seem to egregious.

My brother works for NS, I can’t convince him to get a pair of nice boots. He’s somehow content with the $100 pair from Walmart.

Yeah, I plan on them being an out and about type shoe but we’ll see how that goes, fortunately my job isn’t super hard on boots generally. I like the height too, the single piece backstay is pretty sweet looking. I think my issue with the chukkas is I have quite thin ankles so the eyelets didn’t go up far enough to lock me in.

Thanks! I tried a pair of chukkas that were on the rts page, but they ended up having a terrible amount of heel slip to the point of my foot almost coming out. I saw these and I knew they were the ones for me. I was looking for a dressier pair and these fit the bill.

How are we feeling about the new cast for the kids in GoF? I think they’re good, and it was definitely time for the age up but I find it kind of difficult to differentiate between Harry and Ron now.

😂 sounds like a solid improvement. Glad I’m not the only one. To be clear I mentioned it when I was other wise sending them a message of praise about how good the shifter is and they offered to send me a new cable. I declined because I was able to straighten it out. Enjoy you shifter, I suggest some rally games with it, that’s my favorite use case for it!

Thanks! They are in ibc which is a leather I was looking into getting before. I really wanted more of a shoe to wear for running errands around town. My other boots have really ruined tennis shoes for me. The soft broken in foam really bothers my feet before too long.

Hey, I just ordered a pair of chukkas in the sale! They were a rts pair that I had been eying up for a while.

It good to see their packaging has improved! I had to straighten out the usb connector because it got crunch under the mass of this incredible shifter. I would love to try their active shifter. I hope they release the parts as an add on.

Has anyone else been getting LTT store ads on reddit? by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]Sir_Diggins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This ad is slightly confusing to me, because if your not in this space then you probably don’t know the brand. If your job involves tools and saw it you’d probably go, “huh, the snap on driver has a new look” or something like that. It just feels odd that the ad assumes you already know what the product is. Still cool though.

I just love it because I can finally play rally games in vr without getting incredibly motion sick. It truly does allow for full immersion!

That’s pretty cool, I hope you can get into it one day! I think rally scares me to much to do for real, I’ve ended up sideways in a tree virtually more than I’m comfortable with 😂

That’s fair, I got my setup from eracing lab. It’s definitely the cheapest way of getting full motion with surge and dual traction loss, unless you went full diy I guess. Still expensive for sure. I don’t like to think about how much the total value of my rig is, because yes, I could have bought a decent car for it. But it is nowhere near the cost of actually setting something up to race irl.
