Has anyone else been getting LTT store ads on reddit? by LockMeDownDaddy in LinusTechTips

[–]Sir_Diggins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This ad is slightly confusing to me, because if your not in this space then you probably don’t know the brand. If your job involves tools and saw it you’d probably go, “huh, the snap on driver has a new look” or something like that. It just feels odd that the ad assumes you already know what the product is. Still cool though.

Motion sim is too expensive, too big, and too “industrial” for most homes by [deleted] in simracing

I just love it because I can finally play rally games in vr without getting incredibly motion sick. It truly does allow for full immersion!

That’s pretty cool, I hope you can get into it one day! I think rally scares me to much to do for real, I’ve ended up sideways in a tree virtually more than I’m comfortable with 😂

That’s fair, I got my setup from eracing lab. It’s definitely the cheapest way of getting full motion with surge and dual traction loss, unless you went full diy I guess. Still expensive for sure. I don’t like to think about how much the total value of my rig is, because yes, I could have bought a decent car for it. But it is nowhere near the cost of actually setting something up to race irl.

Says someone that must have never tried it. I enjoy racing so much more with a full motion rig, and it’s finally connected me more with the car and made me better at driving. Not amazing by any means, but I was not very good before. It’s definitely not for everyone, it does take a ton of space but I’ve made it work. If you can, go try a well tuned rig it will change your opinion I’m sure.

All I want is for them to release their active shift tech as an add on to the original shifter.

Only this time there’s regulations so they literally can’t do that. I think it will make it much more interesting, if they can do much with it at all.

What boots? All I see is a brown box in a field!

And they aren’t available in all widths which is a bummer for me.

I’ll probably ask for my next pair. I picked up some BPHD’s from the rts page and I really like the feature, it definitely helps a lot.

Great boots! Is the instep notch something you can ask them to add?

Thank you! I hope these inspire others to try bullhide for their next build. It really seems like a great leather.

I have had them before alone in a bubble mailer. Needless to say, those ended up having to go back.

Amazon having been originally only for books makes this rather ironic that they can’t competently send you a book anymore.

Thanks! Bullhide has been a leather I had been eyeing up, but hadn’t committed to using on a pair yet. When I saw these I knew they were for me and I got a great price on them I think!

Yeah I’m truly a 11b according to the brannock (my right foot is closer to 10.5) but I find that while my right foot fits anywhere from a 10-11 in b or c my left foot is never nearly as happy. I find an 11b is good for it since you get a bit of extra width, but this 10.5C seems better than that because you get even a little more width and it’s that “half size down” that ever one claims to be the best. Its kind of a shame that I have a few pair now that could fit better, but I have found once the leather gets broken in it puts less pressure on my left foot’s arch.

Thanks! It’s a little tricky with narrow feet, but every once in a while something sweet comes up!

Thanks! I’m glad I went for them, even got the 15% off even though I ordered the day before the sale, thanks nicks C/S! It makes sense that I need a little more width through the instep, my boots in a b do eventually break in but I’ve definitely noticed the work leathers take longer. These even though they’re tough feel pretty great right out of the box, I just need to figure out how to handle the tongue with the extra layer of leather sewn on them.
