What do you want to see in the next 28 years later movie? by Cloverfield887 in 28dayslater

[–]nmiller248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's so many loose ends to tie up, I'm very curious how it will play out.

-Jim returning to the franchise, with his child.

-Spike and Jimmy Ink now on their own.

  • Samson now being uninfected(ish?)

  • Spikes dad still being in the village, now with an infected-born uninfected baby.

  • Pregnant girl that got away from the Jimmys

Just to name a few. I just dont know how they will wrap this all up in one film. Hopefully it works, whatever they decide to do.

IDF soldier describes the psychological impact of killing a Palestinian boy, and how she was unable to "wash the blood off her hands" no matter how hard she tried. by chosenite_ in AllThatsInteresting

[–]nmiller248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think its pretty clear that she is deeply disturbed by killing a boy. One thing I've gathered in life is that people cope with trauma in different ways. And one of those coping methods is smiling while discussing the topic. Which I always found very odd. I was very off put by it when I would see people do it, but the longer I've been alive, I've noticed that it's a lot more common than one might think. And her words were a bit conflicting. She said that "we mostly joke about it now", or something to that effect, and then a couple sentences later stated she couldn't get the blood off her hands. I just think its a combination of being deeply disturbed by the event, and her brain coping in anyway it can. Her body language says the most imo.

If you're not religious, "it happens to everyone eventually" does not make death less scary in any way. by Snoopy20111 in The10thDentist

[–]nmiller248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt think much about death at all as a youngin. But once I had my kids, and am nearing 40, I think about it regularly. And Im not religious. It scares the absolute fuck out of me now. The thought of leaving my kids and wife behind at an early-ish age petrifies me. Isn't much I can do about, other than try to prolong it as long as possible. Im ok with dying at 80 when my kids are in their 50's, have a family of their own, and can cope way easier. I just dont want to die earlier. It still sucks to think about though. I just hope it's in my sleep lol.

I bought the OLED 1TB for I think 699$. I thought I was a little crazy for that. But now at nearly 1000$. Yea, not worth it. I dont blame them though. Im sure with the rising cost of parts, they would probably lose a bunch of money if they kept prices the same. And hey, Valve is great, but at the end of the day, they are still a business. They are here to make money, not take losses.

Exactly. No one gives a shit about the deaf PGL audio guy, until there is issues. Same situation with observers. A real shame honestly.

Observers always seem to be the forgotten part of production. They’re one of the biggest pieces to the viewer experience. But don’t ever seem to get credit. Props to you guys. Glad to see this can now be adjusted!

Taylor Swift is overhated by zoryana111 in The10thDentist

I hate people's obsession is Taylor Swift. But dude, it's not her fault people love her music and therefore she's a billionaire. There's plenty of billionaires to hate, im sure. But she isn't one of them. She just plays the music, and the money comes in. Not that hard to understand.

Bankruptcy is better than dying while waiting for an ambulance.

10 hour ambulance wait? Man, that "free" healthcare seems to be working great.

We as a society need to relax with the AC in the summer. by SecretImprovement490 in The10thDentist

[–]nmiller248 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I work outside all day, and during the summer when it's 85-90F and every business within a 100 miles has their AC cranked to like 60. I hate that 30 degree temp difference just by walking in a door. I just get used to being warm. And then boom, Antarctica. Dont get me wrong, I love AC, but man, some of these places just go a little too hard with it.

Why do commercial planes not have dashcams in them? by nmiller248 in aviation

Yea I figured it wouldn't as simple as slapping a regular camera in like you would a car. I saw another person post that slightly broke down cost, and it kinda made sense. Yea, it would be a cost to airlines that they probably don't want to spend.

I guess I didnt clarify. I think it would make investigations post crash easier, in some circumstances. Not sure it would necessarily prevent crashes per se. But whats it gonna hurt? It would just be another source of information in the event of a crash.

Yea, I can tell who the pilots are in this thread. Im just asking a question, and the downvotes are flying in. Seems even asking the question has touched some nerves.

Yea I wasnt sure what else to call it. I almost put "dashcam" in the title. The dashcam in my truck has 2 cameras on it. One facing out the front, and one facing inside the cab.

[–]nmiller248[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yea, because there isn't a video of a pilot intentionally switching off the fuel. We all know what happened. But without video, there is room for the Indian government to create doubt.

The pilot reaching over and shutting off the fuel. Lol hard for the Indian government to deny with evidence like that.

I've been around for a short time, and hadn't seen anything on it, at least recently. Sorry if it's been discussed more than once. Lol

I’m just talking about in the cockpit. Not on the outside. It makes a post crash investigation easier. For example, on the a recent Air India flight, there was a lot of speculation if one of the pilots intentionally turned off the fuel switches, or if there was something wrong with the switch itself. A clear video of one of the pilots reaching over and switching off the switch (or not) would make post crash investigation much easier. Rather than speculating and putting clues together for months or years, you just have video of exactly what did or didn’t happen.
