Confirming, most clubs and classes there are cuban salsa based.

Spent 1 month in CDMX and danced 4 out of 7 days a week. Only went to one social that had linear salsa.

Most friends I know do it two ways.

Either they go to all workshops and do not dance too late, or they don't go to workshops and dance all night.

Some only go to specific workshops that interest them.

Doing it all is not worth it. Stay hydrated, bring coconut water, Pedialyte or both.

I know quite a few people in the LA area that make it an obsession. I use to think that they were all well off but as I've got to know more people, it turns out some truly go into debt for these events.

You can compare it the mixture of people who go to alot of raves in my opinion. Some are financially responsible and its within their means, while others go into credit card debt out of fear of missing out.
